AI in most games is still horrible

I wanted to post this on a more general gaming forum but since its still prevalent in both small and big AAA titles as Fallout 4 I figured I'd post it here.

Developers are getting better and better solving the GFX issues and streching their engines really far the last 5 years with impressive achievements...but its clear that the true bottleneck of games still is within the AI of all NPCs.

A perfect example is Dogmeat or just any NPC in Fallout4 for that matter...if you really think about it its actually a joke we play games like this, atleast those of us who want some sort of challenge. Most streamer on Twitch (and gamers) play their games on Normal and always find another channel until I see someone play Survival.

Why do people accept 1-2 shotting an ENEMY BOSS on Normal while the mob is kited along a ledge or just stands still because its LOS/poor scripting?

Im just so frustrated, the AI in gaming really is THAT bad 2015.

Improvisation is considered a good thing in pencil-and-paper games.
