Morning all just asking if anyone else has this proble.when I delete some saved games like from two weeks ago,and I go to start fallout 4 in steam it seems to take ages witht the window saying "preparing to launch fallout 4 " then on other occasions its instant start.my question is why is it taking so long to launch after I delete old saves.thanks edit also just noticed when I delete old saves to the recycle bin and then delete them, and go back into my saves files all those files I deleted are back in my saves file ?

After attempting to decipher your post, I think what's happening is your game is synchronizing your saves. So what it's doing is uploading your saves to the Steam Cloud after you close the game, so when you delete the saves and start the game up again, it sees that your saves are missing and it re-downloads them.

You can stop this by right clicking on Fallout 4 in your games library, select "Properties" then "Updates" tab, and deselect the "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Fallout 4", and that should prevent the game from uploading and downloading your saves. Which in turn, wont make you wait for the game to start up.

Assuming that's what the problem is. Be careful though, you don't want to mess up your saves.

Having a modable game with its saves stored on the "cloud" just sounds bad too me.

All that the cloud stores is save game data and settings. Mods won't conflict with this.

You can turn it off with no problems. However, you might want to keep a manuel backup of your saves in that case.
