If you set up supply lines too early......

If you set up supply lines too early can it limit your population?

I've had this the first time I played where Sanctuary was my main base and I kept all my junk. I set up supply lines and the population stop growing. Then second time around I had everything set up in Starlight drive in and the population wouldn't grow above 5 even though food, water, defense etc was all provided.

Anyone know why?

CHA stat is supposed to be the controlling factor in how many people can be in a settlement.

The cap is 10 + CHA, so something else is at play. I noticed that the drive in grew slower than others. Perhaps there are just fewer settlers in that area?

Your broadcast tower IS turned on and powered up- yes?

What's your happyness rating?

Hangman ally had 15 settlers and i didnt do anything. Sanctuary for me has 16 settlers and it has a toilet and some laser turrets. Starlight drive in has a mega fort and has 15 settlers. I have permanent 11 charisma . Hope that helps

Happiness at 80, Charisma at 7. The thing is all my other settlements are growing. I just don't get why my supply depot one isn't.

i believe having a radio beacon provides a random chance of people showing up each day (sort of like fallout shelter did)

so basically its just random; a day could go by where no one shows up, or you might get 1 or possibly 2 additional settlers...

i dont think think there's anything that might affect that randomness...? perhaps happiness or charisma? (yes i know that charisma determines the cap)

In a word.... Bugs!

I have a settlement which has one settler and isn't growing no matter what I do. You can assign settlers from other settlements as a work around but it's likely you will have to repeat that if they get killed in a raid. Hope that helps

Is there a console command to turn off the max pop limit of settlements? In my second campaign I want to have only Sanctuary, but with 50+ residents and looking like a proper city.

I do not believe there is such a console command, but there is at least one mod that will do what you want. You'll have to search for it on Nexus.

In my opinion, in Hangman's Alley, 15 is WAYYY too many people for the space I'm working place to make that place functional but looking good. Whenever Hangman's Alley gets too crowded I disperse Settlers to other settlements.

Well what I do is since people seem to show up at the Sanctuary the most and well fastest...What I do is simply tell the new arrival to head to another settlement if I want a bunch of people somewhere I just head over to Sanctuary and tell how ever many people are there to leave for XXXX place. I know its mean but I don't care, don't want to be lonely at my new Fort Location that I'm exploring around.

you mean the drive in?

you can de-radiate it by scrapping the barrels in it.

If you trash the barrels in the water it is no longer radiated.

Make sure everything is in working order. In my first play through the generators and turrets at the Starlight Drive-In kept breaking for no apparent reason and I had to keep repairing them. When I repair them the quantity for each material to repair them was zero.
