Bobblehead Blues

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 11:02 pm

So trying to avoid the suction power of the vortex created by my mounting "responsibilities" to settlements / factions. My brother and I decided to go bobblehead hunting. So we looked up a list of locations and off we went. Now starting with locations that we had previously been was the obvious first plan of attack and then tracking down other locations.

We got first few with no problems, other then say a respawn of raiders or what not. However we finaly started the real adventure by exploring new ground and getting marks checked off our list. Some good times indeed... Untill going off for one bobblehead for a skill that we had already maxed out for our current level requirement. The Science one (Although we were just mere points away from meeting the next requirement)

Anyways so we get the next few XP points, level up, and check things out; but we didn't get the perk increase and ended up just using our level point instead.. Okay you'd think we'd catch on and maybe start checking out data beter right?.. Wrong we do it again in fact, and again run into no bonus. This one in particular was the lock picking bobblehead.

Well I am not sure what actually popped up as the bonus on this one. Was it supposed to be the next level on the lock pick skill or did it perhaps just increase say the "sweet spot" or maybe increase the toughness of our bobby pins??? Was hard to read the info when still in the middle of a fire fight battle.

Again we lack level for the next (last) star on lockpicking but having one never breaking bobby pin is not a high priorty anyways we probably would not have even gone for it wasting a level point on... Still it would have been nice to also have extra bobby pins to sell as loot.

So becareful out there I guess.

If anyone knows and can say without enraging the spoiler alert folks what the actual bonuses per bobble head are or where I can find a reliable list. Which I have found is a hard enough thing even getting correct data from the other sites I have looked at, then please let me know, or if you have also not gotten a bonus due to level requirements not being met.

Honestly I thought that when we leveled up we'd get the bonus but it apears not.. We are cool with this anyways and all, really its all about the fantastic collection we are building.

Two main bobbleheads on this for us were the Science bobblehead, and lockpicking bobble head.

Bobbleheads don't increase the perks on your perk chart. The SPECIAL ones increase your attributes, but the others have other effects. Check the description of the bobblehead itself to see what it does.

Yeah.. I want to see some bobbles in my bobbly heads. Now they are just sort of big headed figurines. We'll have to change their name to biggish heads.

Yeah we actually tried to locate this info in game by "inspecting" the bobble head but to no avail!

Not sure where to locate this info.

Try looking at your perks (not the perk chart, but the section of the character screen that shows all the perks you actually have). There's maybe one for "Science Bobblehead" and the rest that you've collected.

I could be more helpful but I'm with family for the holiday and don't have access to the game XD

You can find it in-game by looking at your "Skills" screen (Stat -> Skills). Each bobbleheads/magazines/collectibles will add an entry there. (edit: ninjaed again by ishmael <3)

Thanks Hamish999, Ishmaeltheforsaken, and TwistedMinds. Yeah finding the info in game is preferable and more trusted.. Our bobblehead map actually was wrong on a few bits of info and not as reliable as could be hoped for.

Ishmael you restored my outlook on our as of yet self inflicted quest as it is! So thanks for the replies this has been a big help!

I think we will skip the magazine collection.. just trying to get all our issues to stick to the rack in order is something I would see as more of a punishment metted out for us players that get sent to Fallout 4 hell

I had a good time collecting magazines. Haven't found them all yet but their total effect on your character is enormous.

Oh yeah mate I love em' too but there are so many new ones also out there. I pick em up, but setting up say one of those swivel style displays with them alphabetized and in order by issue, for display would be my nightmare. Not to mention the turmoil spent fretting about mixing "Picket Fences" with "Taboo Tatoo's" or "Live Love", or "Silver Shroud".. I just jam them in a trunk so I can find my new holotapes without scrolling fiften minutes back and forth.

Yeah, thats why I signed up for this forum, most people are experienced at the game here at least and have taken more time to explore diffrent aspects, and are willing to share their knowledge. Rather then just to brag about their supperior intellect.. Most anyways
