I always hated power armor. Don't like my character looking like a giant rusty tin can.

I really really hope we can customize other armors like combat armor.....which was my favorite armor type. Especially the black combat armor in New Vegas.

I believe i heard them state there are different layers of armor. or something of that nature. I would imagine that they will let you use up leather and tape and metals, etc to create armor too. instead of buildings and weapons.

I believe armor as a whole can be customized... We see the character begin in a basic vault 111 suit, and later he has leather added to it...

Yes, layered armour is confirmed. Hopefully we can customize combat, stealth etc armour as well, since the gear customization seems good.
