Fallout 4 - More FPS, less RPG?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 3:27 am

The game....

...actually looks like a dream come true besides the voice acted. The fact that many are still complaining by the voice F & M protagonist after watching how well acted those voices are,(really doesn't surprised me) is a huge impact in the best good way. He said in the Q&A after the show, that there are many other perks and much more that they haven't shown yet.

It's a ubiquitous system, you can infer what the dialogue system is like just From Lucas Simms in Megaton or any conversation in the beginning of Fallout 3.

It looks to be the same in Fallout 4...

This doesn't mean that we will have no dialogue options or it will be linear.

Again you are taking conclusions way to fast.

Without even playing the game.

I know it's hard for you hardcoe fallout fans to accept change but deal with it,this is how it will be and i think that most of the people are liking this new system (and this new game).

I have a few things I am worried about for the RPG aspect but the big one is having a fixed backstory.

It looked like something that I would play once and then never again. Not what I want in a RPG.And I will probably spend the next years wondering if they butcher the next TES too.

Fallout: New Vegas is my favorite Fallout game,my aversion is not about change itself but the nature of it in Fallout 4.

I've yet to see anyone approve of the new dialogue system

They definitely need to brace themselves for the inevitable. This isn't what they fell in love with. They need to judge this game on it's own instead of getting nostalgic.

That game can live on forever through mods. They are making a huge mod for game now with a completely new setting in California. In would encourage those guys to keep working on the new expansion. They have probably lost all motivation to finish it, but the Fallout community will be divided and they will have an audience in Spring of next year when they finish.

Fallout 3 & Fallout New Vegas will live on, but Fallout 4 will pouch all those people who bought Rage, Bioshock, Mass Effect, etc. etc.. So it will have a mass appeal while the diehards will likely go back to the older games or play both.

Definitely an RPG with FPS elements from everything I saw. I'm really excited now for this game. More excited for a Bethesda game than I have been in a while.

I think when it comes to upcoming titles, this just Battlefront out of the water for me (which is a huge accomplishment, though considering everything we've seen about Battlefront was probably not that hard to surpass...but this blew it away).

Wheels are hell to operate on PC? Wheels are easy on PC, you don't even need to wheel...still just point and click (on a spot on the wheel). Hell, have been doing it for a long time in The Sims, and that's super easy. Different game I know, but when you have 20 options (with a "more options button as well, for like 10-20 more options) pop up for character actions...it's really not that difficult. All choices, laid out in a simple space.

Maybe that's just me because I'm used to them on PC for a long time now. Lists are so old.

I played the Anchorage DLC last week and boy was it terrible. That's exactly what a Fallout FPS would be like. I'm sure FO4 will be nothing like that DLC, but for anyone who was wondering how an FPS FO would feel like, just play Operation: Anchorage.

Gotta wonder what they'll do though. They said that they're finish with the west coast. Maybe they'll take the story line for the second fallout tactics.

Actually fo 4 nows feels more rpg than fo 1, 2 or 3. Now every point in character creation counts. Old games most skill points were completely useless unless they jump certain threshold and that can take 10-30 points before seeing any impact on the gameplay.

Now we put one point on science perk and we will get instantly new stuff, like new crafting stuff etc.

I'm from the southern untied states so i would love to see a game take place down here that doesn't just involve confederates, hillbillies, and moonshine.

I don't think it'll be more FPS, it's still an RPG just a terrible one now for a number of reasons.

That said I do like the changes to Special, assuming we can't be a MOAT and get everything to 10.
