IMO this theory blows, finding out you were an android would make just about everything moot.

I'm jumping on the "what if" band wagon. After I punch myself.
Okay, what if you find out you're an android, but also find out your real self is still in preservation somewhere? Now, you have to go rescue yourself!
Rescue myself? I dunno man I dunno. I just think the connection to your PC is ruined if you aren't a human, the only way I could maybe be okay with this is if I did it Blade style where Im this android who knows he's an android but works with the humans to combat and kill the androids.
One factor working against this idea is what we heard from the male voice actor during an interview. He said, with reference to the protagonist, "I'm a real person with a real family". This would suggest that we will most certainly be playing as a human, rather than either being an android, or being in some kind of VR simulator.
"Lone Survivor Wander Dweller...You...Are a robot."
Me: -eats a fancy lad- "...Then where is this food going..?"
I read on one of the wikis that the synths can digest food. They can act just like humans in the sense they have emotions, they sleep, they bleed, and they eat food.
Robots...Who can eat food...So that means, there are robots...Who can poop.
This...this is apparently a thing. This is the uncanny valley. It's almost like...What's the point then?
"So wait wait wait, so what you are saying...is I'm a robot...Who can sleep, eat, have emotions, all that..."
"That is correct Courier Dweller of the Lone Variety."
"...Kinda defeats the purpose, don't it?"
Like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyborg_(comics)?
No, a cyborg is someone who is half human and half robot whereas a synthetic is a full on robot with human-like qualities and look like humans. If you've watched Blade Runner, you would know what I mean.
You don't say. Maybe take another look at what I was replying to.
I did, and I responded to your response explaining the difference between a synthetic and a cyborg...
Well, thank you for correcting my assumption that cyborgs were part human, part machine then.
A cyborg is a human with robot parts, an android is the opposite.
I'm not a fan the whole 'PC really being an android' craze and I hope it isn't true. Though PC being an android would explain the lack of remorse PC has after Cogsworth drops the '200 years later' bomb. Since the Vault Tech salesman is probably the same android we saw in the first reveal trailer, I'm assuming many of Boston residents are in fact androids.

You would think so, or until your PC starts lactating 30 weight.
The Replicated Man cut himself while shaving and he bled, presumably androids also bleed if they get shot.
That's actually wrong. Androids are just machines made to look human.
