Fallout 4 Timeline thread 2

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 6:08 pm

Overall sales for Skyrim reached around half-a-billion dollars, and the game is still selling. There are entire countries that are worth less than this, and my guess is that the figures for Fallout 4 will be considerably higher. My point is, with such a valuable IP, is it any wonder the devs are being incredibly careful about everything they say? Even the footage has been put together with a huge amount of care. The reason, for example, that the shot on the way to the vault (where we see the blue house and the APC) stops when it does is that, if the camera had panned to the right and followed the path of our protagonist, we would have seen vault 111 right in the middle of the shot, on top of the ridge. If details such as this are being concealed by the devs, then you can be absolutely sure that they will not tell us anything until they are 100% ready to do so. And that includes the start date.

As for others getting frustrated just because I stick with the multiple threads of evidence I have uncovered so far, this is only to be expected. But whereas you have respectfully stated that you will no longer participate in the discussion until we have confirmation, others in the past have not been quite so polite. Remember though, as Helljumper stated earlier, I have been right about many details in the past, and this was in spite of heavy opposition from other forum users at the time, and was also using the exact same methodology that I have used here.

EDIT: for those who do still wish to participate, there is a great deal more to be discussed/debated regarding the timeline :)

Liberty Prime was vastly OP turning the final battle against the Enclave into a stroll to the Purifier and is pretty much universally viewed as OP in the game, Broken Steel provided the answer.

The Orbitial Strike (able to strike specific locations) was added in Broken Steel, so no Liberty Prime was never in any danger during the Purifier battle, it was literally untouchable and I remember the discussions before Broken Steel of how it made Lyons' BOS unbeatable.

Hmm why am I insisting that building a airship is easier than rebuilding something that was a prototype and unique in the Fallout universe......because it is, also the existence of the scrapheap that is Prime doesn't mean that the Lyons' BOS cannot build or rebuild anything else. They will have to devote a large amount of time and resources to the upkeep of the Vertibird Fleet alone, the fact that we are told they will try to rebuild it doesn't mean that it will ever be rebuilt, of course they will try to rebuild the vastly OP death machine.

There is a lot of evidence pointing to Lyons' BOS but the suggested timeline makes it hard to see how they will crowbar them into Boston in the same year as Fallout 3....there is also the possibility that the BOS shown could be MWBOS. But given that Lyons' BOS is Bethesda's BOS its pretty likely that they will be in Fallout 4.

Well that isn't Nostradamus predictions there. I think a lot of people predicted the game would start in 2077, and there would be some kind of cryostasis that happened. If I wanted to search my owns posts, I could find one from 2-3 years ago where I predicted such a thing before any videos or leaks, but that doesn't mean I am Nostradamus either.

Maybe we will find out here during or directly after quake con. Maybe we will have to wait until Nov. Right now I don't think there is enough evidence to really predict anything regarding the date, other than they may be intentionally keeping the information secret.

I do not claim to be Nostradamus, but I did manage to predict no less than 31 separate elements of gameplay as confirmed in the E3 showcase. And these predictions, based on a very detailed study of the trailer as well as the leaked casting documents, were made before the showcase even happened. The full list can be seen http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1522752-cryogenics-confirmed/?p=24095702. Note that in number 10 on the list, I actually specified "around 200 years" in relation to the start date. And although some of these could be called 'obvious' after the event, many were not, and most of them had been contested by several other forum users at the time.

I have also put forwards a number of very detailed theories that have been thoroughly researched based on all available information. Many of these have been welcomed by other forum users, and the feedback has actually been very encouraging. The most recent of these, concerning the 'predetermined' names of the two protagonists (as well as a number of surprising implications on the main storyline) can be seen http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1527024-jack-and-nora.

And so, going back to your above post, I still stand by my predicted start date of 2285. Let's hope that we find out one way or another after QuakeCon

I would say most of those are obvious before the event. Even the start date isn't anything special, most of us, especially the lore nuts and frequent posters to the FO4 speculation and ideas thread have suggested no more than a 10 year jump after FO3. Frankly, you just can't have 50 year time skips in FO anymore, cuz the game would be unrealistic from a rebuilding pov and it would no longer be post apocalyptic. A lot of the things on your list also seem somewhat repetitive. I mean obviously the game starting on Oct 23 and you're frozen, then obviously that is you and that is your family and your child and you are one of those parents, etc. etc. Can't have one without the other basically.

I hope you are correct on the year, or if it is even a couple years later. Regardless I would still want to see MWBoS as I think that is more interesting, and I definitely do NOT want to see Arthur being a boy king and in charge at 18 or 20 years old. No, no, no, no, no. CW being in Boston is all fine, boy king, not fine. Not fine at all.
