G.E.C.K Warning Message before loading MegatonPlayerHouse*

Post » Mon Jun 07, 2010 3:04 pm

Hey Again all,

When I double click MegatonPlayerHouse* in the Editor ID list in the Cell View Window Pane to load the MegatonPlayerHouse into the Render Window I get a Warning, actually a series of warnings. :-

MODELS:STAT 'Clutter\RaiderDressing\RaiderCorpseDresing05.NIF' has a controllerthat targets the root 3D.

Context: DEFAULT

"Yes to all" will disable all Warnings for this context.

Yes No Yes to all

If I click yes I get another error. :-

NiControllerSequence::StoreTargets 'Idle'failed to find target with the following identifiers:

m_pcAVObjectName flickerPanels:0
m_pcCtlrType NiMaterialColorController
m_pcPropertyType NiMaterialProperty

Context: Default

"Yes to all" will disable all Warnings for this context.

Yes No Yes to all

THIS goes on and on with many different warnings. I usually just select Yes To All.

It seems to work fine after that but what is the deal with this ?

Anyone know if its just bugs or if I've got a corrupt install or what ?

That is normal.

There are many meshes created by gamesas that have several problems with them, but they work find in the game.

Luckily, the game engine ingnores a lot of the garbage errors. :)

Indeed. I have never had a problem just clicking "Yes to All" and going about my business as usual.

This. I get a bunch of errors on the mod I'm working on. I didn't get it up until a few days ago. I too thought my mod was corrupted but then I play tested it just to see and it works fine. So, I just click "Yes to All" now and forget about it.

Mind if I ask something? Why did you quote his post and then say 'This.'? Why didn't you say something like "I have the exact same experience"?

Nah, just though it was a rather curious way of doing it rather than saying something a bit longer. Don't mind me...

Yeah, I'm a bit out of it myself. I'm also not looking foward to shoveling 24+ inches of snow either. Speaking of which, the plow just went by....

I wan't one of those! Nah, jk.

Back on topic, I usually also get a bunch of errors and such. I just ignore them and go about my business. Like I always get all these warnings about bodyparts and crap. Just ignore these.

Sometimes those messages are worth reading, especially if you are having some issues with you mod. Before I release a mod, I run through them one by one just to make sure there are none of the "real" warnings. Also, you can look at the file named "Editor Warnings.txt" in your fallout3 folder as all the warnings get dumped into that file.

Replying that way is actually extremely common on forums and BBS's all over the net. It's generally accepted as a nod of agreement, or a way to rehighlight something that was said that deserves repeating again, as related to the topic or question. It's also considered good form to include the quote or part of the quote as the reply order can get screwed up, and without the quote the context is lost. It's also a way to avoid retyping the same thing over again in your own words, and to give the one who originally brought up the point/issue/comment/whatever due credit.

Perhpas elsewhere, but I have never seen it here. It looked meaningless to me, being the first time I have ever seen it.

Using the Quote is okay, but its abused way to much around here. People will 'quote' a 2 page essay and just say, 'yeah'. For the most part, there is no need to quote entire posts, just the point you want to talk about.

As for errors in general, its a good idea to 'not' ignore ALL errors ALL the time. Mesh errors, or missing ears are usually fine. Errors you get when you load vanilla cells are usually fine. Errors when you load your custom or new cells you should look at. Most notably are the NavMesh errors you can get when you save your mod. These should be fixed. You should also look at any errors you get after you load your mod.

Yeah... THIS ^^^
:P
Oh, I certainly agree with that.. useless quoting really serves no purpose at all. Far better to just say you agree with so-and-so if one's not going to add to or expand on what they said.
