Fallout: 4 and Fallout: Shelter, Interaction between games?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 11:59 pm

So, I was playing fallout shelter and I've been thinking on a great idea for the upcoming fallout 4, it would be great if the two games could have some kind of interaction between them, for example, when you send a dweller for exploration on wasteland, they have a chance do meet the fallout 4's character and trade for goods like: weapons, armor and stuff, the guy from fallout 4 could pay for a caravan to send supplies to your Shelter's vault just like that quest from fallout 1 where you can increase the water fuel countdown by 100 days.. well it's just an idea, I think you guys could make something similar that would work based on both games mechanics, and market. Well that's just an idea, what you guys think about this? :twirl:

PS: English is not my native language, sorry for the typos? :icecream:

Yeah, I brought this up in another thread. I think it would be awesome but there may be a few too many technical difficulties not to mention communications between Google Play, iTunes, Playstation, Microsoft and Bethesda Softworks.

For me even a small amount of interaction would be great. Just meeting one of your dwellers out in the waste would be cool.

Nah, there's already the companion app... I don't see them connecting Fallout Shelter to Fallout 4 as well.

I doubt there will ever be interactions between Fallout 4 and Shelter.

I also hope there is not I just find mobile games tedious part of that is because there based in real time.

I will say Fallout Shelter is the my favorite mobile game but as a whole not my thing.

Not sure about interactions, but there's sure to be allusions. Today my explorer got a "republic robe" which I haven't seen in previous games. Wonder if that has anything to do with 4.

The UI is similar, the way radiation works is the same, certain weapons are similar... it's a good chance some of the armor will be in Fallout 4 as well.

Plus in the settlement part of E3 there seemed to be a happiness system similar to shelter.

I personally wouldn't want it, as I have a dislike for game mechanics or content that are locked out to some silly mobile app that I have to use, something all too common these days with major AAA games.

Shelter is nothing more but marketing for Fallout 4, and that's how it should remain.

Indeed, as well as food and water... Makes sense though, since both games were developed at the same time... ideas were bound to cross over between the two.

Perhaps Republic Robe is an allusion to Caesar, given its Romanesque look?

Maybe, I guess they had Ghost people outfits. I thought that at first but it didn't look Legion to me. Caesar was the only one with robes and his were fluffy barbarian not white toga. But it wouldn't make sense for them to invent another Romanesque faction for 4 so I bet your'e right and its just a stylized reference to the Legion.

I seriously doubt there's any connection between the games. Shelter is reaaaaaallly not canon, considering all the unique NPCs that can show up at your door (I've got two Dr. Li's in my main vault, people who're dead in the main games can show up, etc.). Plus the part where you're building & populating a new vault, after the war. Instead of before it.

No, Shelter doesn't make sense as a "serious" game, and there's no reason for it to connect to FO4.

That's a good point. We may see a few outfits and weapons that were in Shelter also appear in F4 but I would doubt that they would interconnect.

That's what I thought they would do initially. It's fun just thinking about who's NPC this is and whether or not they come from someone's Fallout shelter game.

Very much doubt it.

First, it would deny a quite significant chunk of content to those who haven't got Shelter due to not having a compatible device.

Second, for many of the reasons already stated.

Third, it's the sort of thing that had they implmented it, they'd have already mentioned it.

No....Shelter is just a minigame which has zero to do with the game itself really. Just something to pass the time.
