This makes sense from a hungry fan perspective but not so much from a marketing perspective. People are more likely to lose interest in a regular schedule like this. They'll get a big bump with the first couple but by the end of July most of the fan base will have lost interest or just check with their regular gaming sites to see if anything interesting was released. They did the big announce videos to get pre-order sales and gauge fan interest. By waiting until closer to release to dump another major video and then use the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. videos as weekly bumps for the hardcoe fans they get a huge boost in pvssyr right before release which will drive more game sales in stores.

While I think that's part of it, I think it's also an excuse to get the Fallout brand into the mobile market. Most of the AAA companies are doing this now. The way they did it with Fallout is smart because it gives the impression of being for Fallout fans rather than the usual looking like selling out that upsets people.
