Thoughts on weaponarmor condition being removed?

Well it technically is a wasteland where you explore and try to survive the current climate of it. Weapons/armor not breaking is pretty unrealistic. I see the point of weapons breaking too quickly but by getting rid of that you just make it easier to go through the world with one/two weapons instead of an inventory of weapons. Personally I like what New Vegas did introducing repair kits however I also liked what Fallout 3 by making repair very important towards damage, while that did hurt armor it also rewarded you for putting points into the skill.

I'm still going to enjoy Fallout 4, 82 more days, it will take forever. If it is true that weapon/armor degradation is gone, which we don't 100% know yet, then it would be disappointing. It wouldn't be the worst thing ever but it would be a disappointment because it has worked in the previous games and I see no reason why it can't in Fallout 4.

Dehydration and starvation are both something I could gladly do without. I would only ever want the PC to handle that themselves on their own time. Fallout did have [single hitpoint] dehydration damage if you went into the deep wastes without a canteen, but that was it. If you had the canteen, then the PC handled finding their own water on the trip. That is just not something I want the gameplay to focus on. I much rather the game focus on the choices made that affect others, than to bother the player with eating fruit and drinking water.

I already play FO3 and NV where I have to be AT a workbench to repair stuff....just makes more sense to me. I do keep a few Weapon Repair Kits on me in NV just for emergencies, but I rarely use them away from a Workbench.

It makes perfect sense for any new type of system to require us to repair / replace weapon PARTS at the workbench using the raw materials we breakdown from scavenged / salvaged items. Also, perks should dictate how well we can determine damage as well as repair it. Granted, nothing we have seen so far indicates this is going to be part of FO4, but the way it was repeatedly stated, "I can't talk about it." gives me some hope there is still something there we have not been exposed to.

Just because we have not seen it in the DEMO code yet does not mean there isn't something new there they just did not show in the DEMO code. i do hope it has not been completely abandoned as the requirement to break down junk for raw materials AND the weapon mod system both seem to play right into the possibility of a better repair system (but I could just be dreaming).

huh something I agree with you on haha while I can understand some people want it for "immersion" I've never found it enjoyable to be like "damn I can't go have fun over there, I need to find some water"

That's pretty much what I'm hoping for if not in the vanilla game. Slow degredation and having to repair at work bench

It wasn't a real threat most of the time, but I'm already starting to miss it.

Worse things could happen, it's not ideal, but I'll live.

Considering they removed condition in Skyrim I kinda expected it to be removed from Fallout as well.

If anything should stay, it's regular armor degradation. Weapons don't decay that quickly, even in a post apocalyptic universe. But armor is always taking a beating.

Hopefully the shot in the E3 footage where the Raider Psycho got his chestplate blown off is something that can happen to our armor.

It's not ideal, but honestly I'm fine with it. It would be nice if they'd put it a more nuanced degradation/repair system than the one seen in previous FO and TES games, but since I didn't much care for the way they did it I don't mind them taking it out all together

It really doesn't. Just makes it annoying.

Equipment condition was only introduced in Fallout 3 and used in Fallout : NV. So if it's removed then it's just going back to normal.

Personally I'm not fussed either way, you could generally find heaps of gear to fix what gear you had or you could just take it to one of the many NPCs that repaired gear to repair it before it broke.
