We know that Synths will be present in the game and are created within the Institute. I'm curious if those outside the institute can expand their numbers by building more of themselves or if they can only grow their population by helping others escape. Perhaps they could spread out into the commonwealth and beyond looking for scrap and tech to bolster their population and build a civilization.

I haven't heard any news about this. I would think it would take some really sophisticated equipment to create an android so I'm guessing the answer to your question is "No".

Sure they will be able to reproduce, would have got lessons from Fisto.

Who knows...we could travel to the institute and the synths may have slaughtered all the humans and are planing a hostile takeover of the planet...the possibilities are endless. Very exciting indeed.

If they knew how to build more of themselves and had the abilities too create the parts needed to do so (or steal them from the Institute), than it's possible.

But I highly doubt that they would be programmed with such information. Of course, that doesn't mean they didn't learn how to do it while serving inside the Institute. But the biggest hurdle will be manufacturing the necessary parts.

Provided they have the means to do so it wouldn't be out of the question. I'd like to think that there's probably someone in the institute who's sympathetic to the androids/synths and helps them escape while also providing some resources to the ones who have gotten out.

I don't think they were programmed to replicate. Atleast not yet...
