Your imagined epic fallout 4 moment

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 4:38 pm

Dueling my evil son on top of a skyscraqer at midnight with the full moon as a dramatic backdrop while it's raining (yes you can still see the moon) and then when I win he's crying and ranting and [censored] and then my character can just walk up and say "Shhhh, mamma's home" and shoot him in the head.

I guess it's been so long I can't remember :). Ok, I can just change my statement to I hope I will see an NPC do something where their AI really impresses me.

I emerge out of the vault blinded by the light, then a cute fluffy kitten runs out of a nearby bush wearing a Pipboy as a jacket. I take the pipboy and the cat and we go look for our stash i hid under the crib before the bombs went.

In fallout 3 watching/hearing liberty prime do his thing was epic! I would imagine in fallout 4 the epic moment will have something to do with that carrierwe see in the trailer. Like walking outside on a bridge and trying to get to the other side while enemies on vertibirds try to stop you anyway necessary all the while explosions are happening and a vicious thunderstorm is in its apex and lightning is hitting the ship and to top that all off flight of the Valkyries is playing in the backround (or whatever music bethesda decides)

Something simple like, sitting In the bar at my settlement and partying it up with my people after fending of a wave of raider scum and just enjoying ourselves because we all know we're going to have to do it all over again tomorrow....

I leap out of a Veribird, deploy my wingsuit, "Fus Ro Dah" enemy Pterodactyls on the way down where I parachute over a Deathclaw and perform an assassination takedown with a Spork.

Deleting Fallout 4 from my PS4 :hehe:

The problem with Fallout 4 seems to be the epic moments; where one imbibes in the sophomoric and revels in untrammeled power, minigun in had and jetpack in tow.

The rule of cool, is ultimately what will make this game a great for some and egregious for others, brilliant in isolation but execrable in context.

I hope I'm wrong but great characters, ideologies and stories are what I consider the epic moments of the series (and ultimately the apotheosis of the series). As I've said before, there's nothing to suggest we'll get any of this and history implies that we won't.

Edit:

Ever feel like you're articulating the same sentiment in a different prose for the millionth time?

I can't wait 'till Fallout 4 is out, so I can finally discover if it's the end of something great or possibly the start of something better (as unlikely as this seems).

There's nothing to suggest we won't and biased opinions say you won't like it either way. Bethesda's in the wrong no matter what they do, at least from what you say. You're better off not even buying the game bu t I'm sure you will.. I mean, you'll need something to complain about for years to come. Am I right?

No if it's awful it's over, and I'll move on begrudgingly (if this was in response to me).

I doubt that very much. Why do I doubt that? Because history has shown you among the other bitter remnants take more pleasure in decrying Bethesda than actually playing the original games.

I'd say they're equal pleasures... I jest.

But contrary to belief, I do hanker for a great Fallout 4 and I hope Bethesda's iteration delivers it, but disappointment breeds low expectation

If I do end up disliking Fallout 4, and distancing myself from the series it will be a considerable loss to me personally.

The Fallout series has been seminal to my gaming interests and even my intellectual endeavors.
