Joshua graham's fate in fallout 4?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:58 pm

Have there been hints or mentions of people (and therefore news) traveling across the country? I seem to recall mentions of traders doing so but I'm not sure.

(I know the BOS and Enclave have done so, but they generally don't share information with outsiders)

It's possible I guess, but I don't see why anyone in Boston would have heard of him. Graham is a legendary figure in the Mojave, the NCR, the Legion, and among some of the tribes in the surrounding lands, but while that's a large expanse of territory it still may as well be the opposite end of the world.

Graham is one of the more interesting characters in the Fallout setting, but I don't think he should be referenced in Fallout 4 just for the sake of being referenced. If there's a good reason sure, but I can't think of any good reason as to why we would hear about him in Boston.

It's implied during the Honest Hearts ending slides that, unless he dies, his survival becomes common knowledge at some point since stories of his actions begin to spread to "distant lands". I highly doubt these distant lands include the Commonwealth, though.

William Brandice is the only one I can think of. The ex enclave solider who was in Grayditch.

Thanks.

I can't decide whether people in Fallout would be interested in other parts of the world. Some of the posters here don't think so but I can't help but think that some people would be very hungry for news from afar.

Though Joshua Graham is one of my favorite characters as well, the chances of him being mentioned in FO4 is virtually nil...but I do hope I'm wrong. Just don't think will be.

Now, as for the inclusion of 1911's (.45 auto pistol) and their introduction into FO through JG himself...oh hell yeah. Bring 'em on. I'd be surprised if they weren't part of the franchise going forward. Talk about a weapon well-suited for the Fallout universe (along with the Thompson and M1 variants)....unless of course this obsession with Power Armor and energy weapons is going to trump all the goodness Small Guns brings to Fallout, and we're stuck with 2 revolvers and 2 rubbish autos for our available handguns like FO3....oh, or a Dart Gun...oh yay!

At least the new 10mm pistol looks fully functional and badass, in the event Bethesda let's me down with their menu of small arms.

With the new weapon modding system I doubt we will see ANY real-world weapons in fallout 4.

I completely agree.I'd like to entertain the thought of him being mentioned in fallout 4 but it's probably unlikely at least for now.

Yeah,I really hope they at least have dlc for the 45 (like how honest hearts introduced it) Idk just the whole 1950s setting with the tommy gun and 1911= good times gooood tiiimes.I like energy weapons and power armor as much as the next guy but that's alot of what we seen.On another note the 10mm pistol actually sounds like a real gun and not pew pew pew gun :D

EXACTLY! I see I'm not the only who pays attention to weapon sounds! :D One of my biggest issues with NV guns was the terrible weapons sounds. They mostly sounded like firecrackers or hollow mush...the opposite of visceral. There were a couple of exceptions, but I modded in custom sounds that made my weapons really come alive. But, hey, at least they had a ton of small arms to play with.

Besides Mr. House no in New Vegas should even be mentioned it's so far west I doubt people in Boston care what's going on with the Legion . All I remember of his fate in NV is he becomes a nicer person and isn't so quick to kill. At least in mine.

Graham was a badass but I doubt we will see or hear anything about him in FO4, namely being across the coast and being kind of a nobody in the grand scheme of things.

Plus I'm not sure if it's just me, but Beth doesn't seem to acknowledge NV's existence either so there's that too.

It's not just you. They honestly seem to pretend nothing happened between FO3 and now. Shame really. Both games are gems in their own right.

Anyway Joshua Graham is the baddest mother-@#$%er in the valley. It'd be cool to hear about him, or even passing rumors of him, even in a glancing way. But, since NV doesn't exist officially enough to even talk about from a PR standpoint, I'm 100% sure that'll never happen. Like I said, it's a bit of a shame; they should be very proud of it. I suspect it's a competition of visions for the franchise thing though.

I think it's more likely that they're just not talking about any connections Fallout 4 may have to New Vegas. Bethesda has been pretty tight lipped about Fallout 4, and they haven't talked about any ties it may have to any of the previous games in the series - not even Fallout 3.

What reason has Bethesda had to actually talk about New Vegas anyway? I'm sure they would if they were asked, but no interviewer has asked them.

I don't see any reason to have any connection/reference/etc between the two games. They're on opposite coasts, we didn't hear anything about the NCR or California re-development in FO3, so why would we hear anything about similar (and even more recent) events in FO4?

And even ignoring the "Beth vs Obsidian" thing.... if Beth put their Fallouts on the East coast so that it wouldn't interfere with the West coast storyline, why would they start referencing that storyline now?

This. They've talked more about other games that have influenced Fallout 4, actually. The influence of Fallout 3 is self-evident, and New Vegas probably fits into that too. Regardless, someone needs to straight up ask them about New Vegas, just to satisfy my curiosity. :P

Pretty sure Joshua Graham's fate will be playing Sir Not Appearing in This Picture.

I was never talking exclusively about recent events in the setting. House attended MIT, at least one member of the Think Tank probably did as well, and there's plenty of other ways NV could be referenced without tying Fallout 4 to what happened in the Mojave. References to New Vegas don't have to extend only to the NCR vs. Legion storyline.

The setting basically demands Mr House to be referenced. But Fallout isn't a brand that's concerned with integrity, consistency or story as much, so I could see Fallout 4 making no mention of the Institute attendee who revolutionized the world with robotics, even though that's what apparently has become the focus of the Institute (and their finest creation, the replicated man).

I could even see Harkness (allegedly the most lifelike synth ever) not being mentioned.

Graham is history.

Yeah, House is sure to be referenced; I wouldn't be surprised to see a copy of that portrait of him and Liberty prime, killing two birds with one egg.

I don't really see any other aspect of NV being of relevance to F4 (maybe the Mojave BroHood? I doubt it, though).

I'd be surprised if Mr. House isn't referenced somewhere in the game, even if it's only in an email on a terminal in the Robco facility that will inevitably reside somewhere in the Boston Wasteland.

I doubt we will hear from minor characters like this.. I would be surprised if we don't hear from Mr House though.

Why? Even when civilization is built back up enough to support a weapons industry based on post-war designs, there are literally millions of pre-war firearms laying around. I'd guess it would be centuries before manufacturing facilities could ramp up to the point where they could mass-produce weapons of equivalent quality to the pre-war stockpiles. Small runs of hand-made pieces, sure, but I'd predict that pre-war firearms will be a major part of the wasteland economy for a long time.

The problem with the weapon modding system is that it affects unique weapons. So either there will be no unique weapons in Fallout 4, unique weapons contain unique mods which can be used on other weapons, or unique weapons can't be modified. So if unique mods exist, then I could put Joshua Graham's gun barrel on another weapon so that the new weapon has the Greek writing on it. As we currently know, we pick up a laser pistol from the wasteland and we can change it into a laser sniper rifle provided we have the right mods. There has been absolutely no evidence that certain weapons can't be modified.
