You get a lot of bang for your buck and much more replay value than a game like than Call of Doody.

Sixty bucks is the norm, so I don't have an issue with it.

400 hours of content, which is what is advertised, for $60 is less than one cent per minute of play. Even adding the season pass still doesn't get close to even half a cent per minute. I paid $60 bucks for Fallout 3, Skyrim was $60 as well, now Fallout 4 is $60 with tons more content. If anything you the consumer are getting far more for your money than you got even a few years ago.

I doubt for even a minute that BGS employees are being paid the same rate, or less, than they were in 2008 or 2011. I know as an employer that just plain operating costs are higher now then in 2011, let alone employee costs. If you as an employee demand higher wages and more benefits, that company has to recoup that money to pay you. The only way to recoup that money is from the product they sell, but they have not done so. $60 in any other category will not buy you the same amount today as it did in 2011, let alone more.

Wait, its 60 dollars for you guys in USD?

It was 70 dollars for the pre order on steam in my Canadabux. Even then with 900+ in both Skyrim and New Vegas I think im going to get a lot of bang for my buck.

With our current situation (And Prime Minister) Our dollar is down a fair bit at the moment. That could be why.

Steam started doing its pricing in CAD a while ago, I can't remember when. I think the prices went up then, regardless of the economy being in downturn right now with the oil prices. Our dollar is kinda at its default state right now though, being at a 30% difference with the USD. That's how it was before the economic crisis in 2008 brought parity for a few years. Back in 2007 before all that when I was buying on Steam the prices were the same, so yeah, probably just Steam increasing prices for us Canucks rather than anything going on with the dollar. There is a lot of UK steamers who pay more than 80 USD worth of pounds for Steam games aswell.

Yeah. And AAA games have been US$60 for close to 10 years now. Which makes it even harder for me to think "too expensive". Everything else (movies, books, food, etc...) costs more, but games don't.

(Just noticed the other day that Ballpark has gone the "smaller package" route to making it look like the price hasn't gone up. Hotdogs don't come in 1 lb. anymore.... regular ones are 15oz, Angus are 14oz. :meh: )

Back in the 2000s when I was buying games in stores it was also 60. Im not sure if there was a price increase there aswell, but I haven't set foot inside of a games store since 2009.

$60 is too high for any game, I'd say. Today I payed $38 by not going through the usual suspects (Steam Store, Amazon, etc.) and I feel like I payed the fair price.

60 caps for hundreds of hours of game play seems pretty reasonable to me. I'm surprised that they didn't ask for my left nut, I would have gave it to 'em. What bums me out, is that I will need a new console to play it.

Seems a way better deal than most other forms of entertainment. Games are getting more expensive to make. I'm impressed AAA games aren't more expensive myself.

The only games I've gained massive value in terms of hours/price ratio are Bethesdas games. End of story.

In germany it is actually 60€. Thats actually (unfortunately) the standard price for an AAA title. Okay, there are other games like Mad Max, i got for 40€ even for the retail version (what was a high surprise for me). But the game prices actually has increased in general. I am not okay with it in generally, but its in all areas and Bethesda only follows the stream. And looking on other games and on the Bethesda games, i in generally spend way more time in the games as in other games. Not nessesary because of the game itself, more because of the mod tools. So i donno, if i should see the game as some special and significantly. Looking at Mad Max, it makes aswell a lot of fun, with the car and updating it, but without mods, i won't play it as long as Fallout 4 (An Fallout 4 Mod or DLC that includes a car you can update and tune with the time like in Mad Max and i would be really happy ;D).

But so in generally, i think the price is justified. Its not low-priced, but the game itself isn't cheap aswell.

I even considering to buy the Season Pass aswell. Buying all DLCs for the big Bethesda RPGs, its some kind of attractive, because it would be less expansive for me then.

Yeah right - as a gamer on PC I probably can't re-sell the damned game (thanks steam...sorry, I use it but I don't like it (I grew up when games weren't bound to [censored] accounts and I freaking liked it...you could lend your friend a game or borrow one without any problem what so ever, you didn't need to download it to check it out, no ask a friend for it (if it's a triple A-Title someone was nearly guaranteed to have it -.-)), so no way would I buy it if I would not be sure about it (and sometimes I still get screwed over, like with Mass Effect 3 or Assassin's Creed Unity...the first had a bad ending and auto-dialogue and later is an unplayable mess and no where near as good as the other AC-Games!)), but I am convinced that I will enjoy myself and so I will - probably - get the game :)

greetings LAX
