Being able to use non-combat miscellaneous items

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 1:39 pm

With all of the items that were considered to be either trash or items to be used for crafting, it'd actually be cool for the characters to actually use in terms of an action emote. Such as playing a harmonica or guitar, tossing a baseball in the air (or juggling bunch of them, or even pool/billard balls).

Heck, even being able to throw baseballs and otherwise non-combat items, even if it's knock-out damage, would be nice.

This would expand the number of objects that can be interacted with, and could be used to supplement side quests (such as trying to distract NPCs or even entertain them, like going up on stage and playing for the audience, etc.).

To use these items, they would probably have to be equipped to enable this, which is understandable.

I've seen emotes on Steam and other mod sites, but it would be nice if there were official ones (that didn't cause bugs or other problems in the game).

Man I would love to play a wandering guitar playing gunslinger like in the Mariachi movies. "His name is 'El'. As in, 'The'."

I could definitely see instruments being usable. They could easily create a guitar-heroesque mini game while using them.

This is a nice idea, but I am afraid Beth wouldn't bother with this. Even the modders don't want to do that (though I guess it's not that difficult). I remember trying to find a mod which allows you to play lute in Skyrim - no avail. There were some mods, but they only let you use lute as a weapon.

I suggest pre-recorded songs that the Survivor can choose from a list. No singing. Just instrumental music. Perhaps any song you've heard on the radio or something.

All those movable clutter items have the ability to inflict damage to the player's character if they're flying around on FO3/Skyrim, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

What would be great is if the grab mechanic actually showed us picking up an item and holding it in our hand - and then letting us throw it, or set it down.

You should go on Nexus and search for "Become a Bard". I rather enjoyed that mod and use it all the time.

That's gotta be the best starter weapon ever, a baseball! lol.

Throw a ball in the face of a Raider, then rush him while he's stunned and beat him to death with a Nuke Cola Truck!

Show me smoking and drinking. Give me empty bottles after finishing a Nuka Cola or Whiskey.
