Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 5:26 pm

Hey everyone, I was browsing on the EB Games website here in Canada and came across this.

Looks like they are taking presell orders finally, i thought i would let all the fans know about this one.

I just put in my order. I can't post the actualy link due to gamesas forums rules

Go to: ebgames.ca & search "Fallout"

Thanks

Are Boarwalk and Parkplace going to be New Vegas and New Reno?

Monopoly is one of those board games that everyone seems to have and yet no one seems to play. Let's do an experiment.. Next time anybody is at someone's house, ask them if they want to play monopoly. I'm betting that 99% of the time they'll show you they have the game but then state that they don't want to play it right now.

Lol, true. It's one of those games that were awesome as kids and then you keep one around for nostalgic reasons even though it's kinda boring as an advlt =)

I like Monopoly, and am usually down to play it. It just takes about 5 hours to complete if you have more than 2 people. :shocking:

That's because you're not playing it right... you gotta add in shots.

If I heard correctly each side of the board corresponds to a numbered Fallout game. So you're going through a circuit of Fallout 1-2-3-4 while doing all of that monopoly stuff.

That means there isn't any New Vegas in there, which is kinda a shame. Im not sure how confirmed this all is though, I only saw this on a reddit post.

I just found an image of the board on Fallout Forge.

http://falloutforge.com/news/fallout-monopoly-board-game-out-in-november/

All of the locations on the board are from Fallout New Vegas. Nothing on the board from any of the previous games. Not really sure if the board image is legit or not.

Edit: Yep. The board on Fallout Forge isn't legit. Just checked the Bethesda store.

http://store.gamesas.com/brands/fallout/monopoly-fallout-collectors-edition.html

The board on their store page confirms that reddit post. All locations are from Fallouts 1-4. No New Vegas. Kindda odd that they didn't include New Vegas. Maybe cause there wasn't enough room on the board.

I'd rather play Fallout Risk. Cover the board with Caesar's Leigon while BoS cower at your corner and NCR and Enclave is wiped out.

Crap I've got to get that. Course I still hate the new Nuka-Cola bottle shape. Would like to see what the shacks and vaults look like though.

It doesn't surprise me at all that NV isn't included. I've also noted that's it's seldom mentioned (if at all) when the Devs are talking about FO4. Like it's taboo or something. I think they are just holding a grudge since they took their FO3 engine and made a better game with it.

I don't think we can just assume Bethesda's petty; they've barely had cause to mention Fallout 3, either, other than "yes, this time we added color or "well I won't talk bad about Fallout 3's combat". Talked more about other games that influenced Fallout 4, honestly. The Las Vegas strip sign is shown in one of the Pipboy minigames, and some of the items in Fallout Shelter like Formal Wear or Wasteland gear seem identical to apparel in New Vegas (the Gambler's outfit and Ghost People garb, respectively). Then there's the fact that Fallout 4 seems to have taken hints from New Vegas for weapon modding and companion depth. Then there's the official store description of Fallout 4; Bethesda would be lying if they said "Join multiple factions vying for power or go it alone, the choices are all yours" for Fallout 3, but that fits New Vegas to a T.

If we don't see much of New Vegas in Fallout 4, the likely reason why is that Josh Sawyer and Todd Howard played a game of Fallout Monopoly together.

They haven't been talking about Fallout 3 or Skyrim much either, its all about the new game and what it can do. They don't want to putter around in what the old games were.

I also don't think that Bethesda and Obsidian hold childish grudges like that. If they did I don't think Bethesda would be selling New Vegas anymore, and they certainly wouldn't have funded the game and the DLCs in the first place.

I'm going by the Monopoly game add saying "Featuring iconic property locations from all four Fallout games. Something is obviously missing here, and no I'm not talking about FO Tactics. I'm pointing out it was obviously left off, their reasons can be their own AND I can come to my own conclusions as well. :P

It's not included because there are only four sides to the board and those four sides are logically taken up by the main series which has four games. No conspiracy here friend, New Vegas is a spin off title just like Tatics or BoS and as such wasn't included.

Do the four sides actually contain just one game of the series on each side? I didn't even notice that. Cool.

Yeah that's what's going on here. There's four sides to the board, corresponding to the four numbered Fallout games. It's what I said earlier in the thread.

There's a mod for Tabletop Simulator that has the previous fan-game version of Fallout Monopoly.

I wonder how many rulesets you could make up to spice up monopoly for the Falloutverse, actually. Pay off Raiders to go smash up some houses on your rivals property? Vertibird your playing piece around the board?

I suppose that's the thing with board games, you can make up any house rules you want. Making those house rules balanced with the game is a whole other ballpark, though.
