Season Pass Due to Housing DLC and Player Mods?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 11:59 pm

You do realize that we now have full ability to build large settlements, right? Combine that with the fact you yourself point out that ods now go to consoles and I seriously doubt that any DLC for Fallout 4 will have anything to do with housing at all.

As others have said, season passes capitalise on a hype train while people are interested.

It gives them some financial assurance for their DLC budget.

That's it, no housing DLCs or other theories - nice and simple

Again, Beth will not be selling mods...You're confusing yourself here. DLC aren't mods lol.

Using the achievements to determine popularity, or even how many people actually did something, isn't especially reliable. Skyrim achievements don't retransmit if you switch from offline mode to online. There could be a lot of people playing Skyrim who dislike Steam and reign it in by keeping it locked in offline mode as much as possible. Those stats on Steam mean basically nothing.

Actually DLCs are mods, at least as far as the game engine is concerned. They're just really big ones the company sells you.

There's also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YJYSLt1em8 video that machinima just put up, that might answer some of your questions or concerns.

No DLC until later in 2016 so no selling DLC day of launch :) yayy

Right, so I actually continued the discussion and came to the conclusion that the season pass is likely to rope people into buying all the DLCs day one. I was always under the impression that most people buy all of the expansions. That isn't the case. For example, only just over 20% of Steam users are recorded on going to Solstheim. So...ya, to me, that's probably it.

I personally like that strategy, and I'd do the same thing in their position.

Can't agree with that at all, I've ordered the game sure but thats based on several videos and lots of info - knowing nothing about the planned DLC I wouldn't order it at all yet. I'll still buy the SP, but only once I've decided I want all the DLC.

Whether you agree with it or not, that is how business works.

Eh, I expect they will stay true to form and give us a minimum four story DLCs like FO3 (5) and New Vegas (4). Maybe a weapon pack or four. I don't see any housing stuff coming from them in DLC, since they've already built that ability in-game. It's a dead end for PC players due to the metric ton of hi-quality player home mods available to them (and now available to console users)...and I personally would completely ignore them anyway, as I always build my own homes. Don't see homes as part of the DLC package. Maybe some items, but not homes.

And since they have their marketing plan which includes leaving old fans in a total atmosphere of speculation that breeds threads such this, I'll pass on the Season Pass.
