is no level cap a bad idea?

In Skyrim on Master difficulty, game can be a bit challenging at first wrt knowing which fights to pick (experience with the game helps). The most enjoyable gameplay while still throwing me a challenge is around lvl 20-40'ish. If I reach lvl40 (I don't powerplay, so it'll take a while) I feel the character has become overpowered, the game has become boring, and I restart with a fresh one.

You have to realise you will have long completed most things in the game probably before you have maxed even half of your stuff so yeh it matters what you decide to increase while playing through it & I'm guessing there will be times playing though the story you're gonna have situations where you think damn I should increased this rather than that here it would of worked better for me but having increased the latter helps in a different way in a different scenario.

It takes more and more XP points to reach the next level with each new level you reach. So we don't know how long it will take to reach level 270. If it only takes 300-400 hours then that's laughable for this community. That would be very disappointing, but if it takes 1,000 hours or more then that makes more sense.

Nope.

If you can play for >300 levels then you are pretty special... and if you want to stop levelling perks, you can.

Dumbed done? No, the reverse, the perk system is more complex.

Takes away from the core of Fallout? No, improves the core game and adds to it.

I hope you're not forced to take perks on level up like in F3 and NV.

Doesn't seem like you have to spend the point immediately. In the Character System video, he has a point waiting to be spent.

I think we don't have to. I just checked that video again.

At the bottom of the screen with the perk chart is a row of options. The first, A, is "CHOOSE (1)." The number in parentheses is probably the number of perks we have saved up. If we had to take a perk, I doubt the display would show us a count. The second option, B, is "CLOSE", which tells me that we can exit out of the perk-selection screen without taking a perk.

On top of all that, why wouldn't they let us bank perks? They had to force levels on us on 3 and New Vegas, since there was a cap and everyone would just save up for all of the max-level endgame perks if they could -but this system doesn't have that issue at all, and there's no balance issue from banking perks for later.

Also, has anyone else noticed that the OP's only post was starting this thread, and they haven't responded or posted anything since?
