For example, now ghouls can survive without limbs. I'm not sure if that's happened in lore, but it does open up a ton of possibilities for combat.
Well, they're just corpses that kinda stay alive.
So yes, it would make sense. That is, if Ghouls can't die from too much blood loss.
tl;dr ghouls lore=we don't freaking know how they work.
Plants! It'd be cool to see some new variants of mutated plants. We've always had the spore plant that was basically based off of Little shop of horrors. Have there been any other movies that had types of killer plants that might work in the Fallout world? .. All I can think of is Attack of the Killer tomatoes.. but I don't really think giant tomatoes would be such a great fallout enemy. Maybe a one off incident just for the funny.
That is not, nor has it ever been, how canon works in any fictional series.
You might be joking, but god-damn do I love the Swampfolk. Nothing like a bunch of rough and rowdy post-apocalyptic good ol' boys.
They have actually skirted around that issue in lore. We know non-feral and feral ghouls DO eat, but nothing states they HAVE to as far as I know.
Dean Domino in Dead Money says "{Defensive}I still need to eat. At least I think I do. The Villa provides... even if it's not as glamorous as the Cantina Madrid"
Ghouls may eat simply out of habit or doing so before they were ghouls, and a fear they might die if they don't.
Comic books re-invent their lore all the time. (Otherwise Batman would be like 90)
It's been over 7 years since the last Bethesda Fallout. There's nothing wrong with them changing things to update it.
Look at GTA. It's one big universe with places like Liberty City, Vice City, and San Andreas. However, the worlds of 1, 2, and London were one era. 3, Vice City, and San Andreas were another era. And 4 and 5 are the latest. Yes,characters exist in all eras, but they don't necessarily look or even act the same.
Its a tragedy that Adam West isn't Batman and that the series as a whole celebrates violent psychopaths.
See the example there, that's how some fans feel about the changes of Fallout.
I myself actually am fine with the changes to the genre
I do miss some campy Batman episodes however.
They better bring back the Holy hand grenades from Fallout NV if they do that
