What will be your first mod?

This might be the first one for me, too.

Or SweetFX, perhaps.

heh, good points. It sounds like you also have an easier time leveling without grinding skills since you didn't get smithing to 100 until level 50. I didn't use smiting much since I generally don't like the look of armor, but I do know that it was very hard for me to muster the willpower to level that skill naturally the times that I did use it. I usually find vanilla Bethesda games most rewarding when I can resist grinding and fast traveling. Since willpower is not my strong suit, I usually get mods for this as well, although I can go without these mods if needed.

When it comes to difficulty I can sometimes ignore things as well. I have no need to use the best weapons or armor and if a gun in Fallout 4 killed everything in one shot I would have no problem never using it, but if broad areas of the game are too easy relative to what I expect from the game world, I will have a frustrating itch until I get those areas of the game modded. This will probably include things like stealth, economy, carry weight and survival. Killing, on the other hand, I expect will be too difficult relative to what I expect from the game world. (And yes, this is subjective and all that, and my mod choices are in no way a criticism of Bethesda's design choices.)

Mods that I always have installed in F3 and FNV:

Hair, eye, face mods

New interiors mods

Texture mods

Game play overhaul mods like FWE, FOOK and Project Neveda

Seeing the character creation, it looks like I won't need the cosmetic mod

I'm sure the devs will give us the good old "boarded up" buildings, so the Interior mods will be a go.

Won't know if I need any texture mods until I play the game. From the E3 video, it looks good.

Since the game isn't out, don't know if I will be happy with the over all game play or if I need to get an overhaul mod.

Looks like it will most likely be an interiors mod.

Imagine a mod that gives Codsworth a series of quests where he asks you to go find him certain parts, bringing him each part slowly rebuilds his case until he's all new and shiny again. Visual changes made after each piece was added. Rebuilding him piece by piece would be rewarding, I think I'd like that :)
