4 weeks - Let the Hype Train Role.

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 7:51 am

"ROLEplay" that is...We are 4 weeks out. Two SPECIAL videos left; so, we know there will be more information/videos released other than those.

What do you think/hope we will find out prior to release? It's been stated that the "story" won't be discussed, but they have something up their sleeve to fill in the time. What could it be?

-More weapon information?

-Bobble-head/magazine info?

-Companion Info?

-Game mechanics?

-Crafting?

Thoughts?

Bobble head and magazine info. That would be my wish. Its low level information, that only impacts how we build our character. Crafting.. I feel like they have told us a fair bit about. Anything more and they would have to go into very specific details.

I am hoping that bobbleheads give unique perks. Its far more interesting then a stat increase.

edit: Maby some details on how power armor works. That would also be neat.

Well I think we'll hear about condition/repair as Todd said earlier when asked "We aren't ready to talk about that yet"

I'd like to know whether or not there's a hardcoe mode included with the game. If not, then that'll be one of the mods I go looking for.

hardcoe mode is something of a odd issue.. I am guessing they implemented some aspects of it into the base game, and jettisoned the annoying bits. Like hunger/thirst/sleep. Ideally, they made food regen health slowly over time, drink reduce rads slowly over time, and beds help with broken limbs. (Perhaps in conjunction with medical tools). Failing that, thats the kind of hardcoe mode I want :bunny:

I don't want to play hardmode survival without animations, visuals, and a real feeling of visual feedback as opposed to the need for more HUD meters on the screen.

Less HUD the better, I even have a real distaste for ammo, health, and compass displays...Pretty much I dislike having HUD at all, unless somehow its explained away by say wearing a helmet with a HUD on its visor.

So hopefully those elements will be done away with.

I'd prefer screen blood and sound indicators to warn that the player is low on health over a meter.

Must... Play.... Fallout.... 4....

Braaaaains.....

Seriously, some months ago I was really hyped.. Now it's kind of died out but I'm still waiting. I can't play other games at the moment, no game fully satisfies my needs for the moment. I hope Fallout 4 will. :)

Im kinda in the same boat. When we got the E3 footage of Fallout 4 I was on a playthrough of New Vegas. Havent touched it since, and I have hardly touched any other game since because Fallout 4 is turning out to be everything I have wanted, and more. The power armour gets me going the most.

Of course though, it is a pain to try and stay hyped when we really havent seen anything knew at all. The SPECIAL videos dont do it for me one bit. I reckon when i fire it up for the first time I will feel just like i did when i first saw that footage.

The less I hear the better. I like to think I've heard enough for me to go "Yes. Yes sir, I will be buying that. I would like to partake of the Fallout?"

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I'm also going to avoid the Internet for the first few days that I play it as well so I can avoid spoilers.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! I just long for a really good game. I never liked Falout 3 or NV because of some game mechanics and I could not seem to get around it with mods either so I havn't relaly played those games. :/

But I loved Fallout 1 & 2, I've played the Metro games, I've tried the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series also and now I just want to get going with Fallout 4. :)

I noticed you live in Australia, you're more or less living Fallout. I can understand why you don't feel the hype! :P

Besides the Quakecon gameplay I don't want to see much else.

I don't think we will get anything more specific about the game until after next week when they release the Luck video, and then maybe they will show the Quakecon stuff, and maybe a little more about how things work. I doubt we are going to get much about the story as they will want you to experience that as the game unfolds. I for one don't want any spoilers.

Slightly off topic, I was playing Fallout 3 last night and finally after 7 years did the quest to go back to vault 101. I had never done it. It amazes me that after 7 years and over 500 hours of playing this game, I still find new things. Thank God I have a few real life things to distract me until release day. I have even scheduled some rather important legal things in my life to not conflict with the release so I can play uninterrupted for two days.

Smooth  .

I think (hope) we'll get some info on a real threat of the wasteland. In pre-release Skyrim, the dragons were the face of the enemy. In FO4, we've seen cannon fodder, such as raiders, mutated critters, super-mutants, raiders, ghouls, raiders, synths and raiders. Show us some real players of the wasteland.

I wouldn't mind if the main conflict is one that is very personal and not relevant at all to the average wastelander.

Obviously the brohood and institute bumping heads will be a problem but I wouldn't mind if that is an issue you can entirely ignore.

If Beth gonna keep Fallout traditions, I assume the "red herring" part of the plot at the beginning will be personal, then once the real main plot shows itself, it's time to be a hero.

Well I'm hoping for more companion info.

More about the settlements would also be nice.

Guns are just yeah, whatever, I make bad guns and shoot things, whatever. Which seems odd since I'm a gun collector in RL, but these we put together in game look so corny they don't do much for me.
