3 favourite things

Post » Thu Jun 10, 2010 7:14 am

I've been meaning to post for awhile about the three things in my inventory that I love most:

1. Mage's fire staff
2. Enchanted Umbra sword
3. Ring of Detect Life

I think I'm at level 13 or 14 now (I should know, shouldn't I?) and played about 85 hours. Cannot believe how much there is to do in this game.

And the more you play, the more you find to do
85 hrs? I′m not saying I have the most hours here, not by a long shot. But with my soon to be 1500 hrs you know what to aim for :)

Buffy the 600 hour Bosmeri mystic archer who is forever young at level 20 is a mere babe in the woods compared to dear Lothran (mirocu's character), but here are the three most important things in her inventory:

1. Slayer. That's her bow. It will briefly but totally drain a foe's speed, bathe them in a brief but nasty arcing storm of sparks and sweep their mystical energy into Azura's Star.

2. Azura's Star.

3. A pair of detect life rings that combine to 360 feet of range. That kind of range is way overkill in dungeons, but very handy when traveling on her precious mare, Superian.

My characters tend to prize three objects,

1. Thier horse Buster (It is Prior Maborels Horse, but with a mod added name and a retexture by Slof).

2. A staff with a Frost/Weakness to Frost enchantment, Usually it is a Staff of Hoarfrost.

3. One of two Claymores added by mods, The Iceblade of the Monarch, or the The Light of Dawn added by OOO.

I also have a bad habit of trying to get the Frostwyrm Bow at a lower level.

1. Robe of glib tongues ( Cyrodiil doesn't have Fendi bags, and a girl has to look good somehow )
2. Elven shortsword ( Standard or enchanted, the coolest looking item in the vanilla game )
3. The Ebony Blade ( It's a katana, it's black, 'nuff said )

Most of those I've never come across. Acadian: where do you get the Slayer? Sounds dandy. I should have said I love my Azura's Star, too.

I have a question on a somewhat different topic (I don't want to clog up the main page with my nonsense!): I can repair my things myself, with the important exception of my Enchanted Umbra. And I spend a fair amount of gold with the different repair shops getting it up to speed after a day of heavy slaughter. Is there something I should be doing to let me do the repairing?

Slayer is Buffy's self-enchanted bow that she made at the Arcane University. Like quite a few players, I find the best weapons are the ones you enchant yourself.

You will be able to repair magic items once your armorer skill gets to 50. A couple simple ways to help this along is to repair anything you find that is not in perfect condition, even if you just drop it afterwards. Armorer is one skill that may well be worth paying for some training in; you can buy up to 5 training skill ups per character level. Rohssan, at The Fighting Chance in the Market District is one of the armorer trainers who can help with this.

I decided to add the things I loved before dicovering Mods,

1. A Dremora Claymore-because it worked on undead.

2. The Robe of Glib Tongues, it just makes life in Cyrodil cost less.

3. Imperial Legion Armor. I always ended up with a set in Kvatch, sometimes before exiting the Undercroft.

Awesome! I hope you continue to find more things! Myself? My favorite things are

1. Daedric Longsword
2. My Apparel (Iron Wrists, Black Hood, Black Robe, Gold Trimmed Shoes)
3. Not in my inventory, but my summons

Number one for me has to be my Enchanted Arch-Mages robes. They look very nice and with a nice big boost to my Willpower from them aswell I just don't know what I would do without them.

Number two would have to be one of my summons I am afraid. Being able to summon a Daedra Prince and have them fight for you to me is just so nice.

As for number 3 it would have to be my full set of Alchemy tools. I have a full set of Grandmasters equipment. It took me forever to find it all and gather it all up so I carry it everywhere with me.

If I was to add a number 4 it would have to be my two rings of Feather. They near enough double my total carry weight before I cast my custom Feather spell.

1. Fine Steel Longsword (Custom Enchanted)- I beg to differ regarding the Elven Shortsword as I think imo this is the coolest looking Vanilla sword!
2. Burgundy Linens of Fortify Strength
3. Dark Shirt of Elemental Shield

Helena's favourite things are:

- Azura's Star (there's a bit of backstory as to why it means so much to her, and why she now worships Azura as well as Mara. Which I know is a bit iffy, but she's an awkward kinda girl).
- The Silver Dagger that Carahil gave her when she went out to do the Anvil Recommendation quest for the Mages Guild.
- Her necklace. 350 Septims! 350! I keep telling her she has more important things to spend her money on, like a horse or a house. But nope. Clothes and jewellery.

Mmkay - my three favorite things (as opposed to my characters', since they all have different preferences and I'm not going to sort them all out), in a couple of different lists:

Practical version:

Azura's Star
The Escutcheon of Chorrol
Necklace of Swords / Amulet of Axes / Ring of the Iron Fist

Sentimental version:

Lord Rugdumph's Sword
Frostwyrm Bow
Ly'ssane

I'm rather "monogamous" with my characters, so what my favorite items are, and what my character's are, might as well be the same thing. But, on that note, Eileen never heads out into the field without these 3 things:

-Eviscerator, her custom enchanted Daedric Longsword.

-Soul Reaver, her custom enchanted Daedric Bow.

-Azura's Star, to keep them both at healthy charge levels.

Ther rest of her gear is a mishmash of good stuff she's acquired, but all of it is subject to change as she progresses through her adventure. She hasn't gone through any Oblivion gates yet, so she hasn't acquired any sigil stones for armor/clothing or jewelry. Right now, she's wearing the Raiment of the Crimson Scar and some alright jewelry, plus a Necromancer's hood enchanted with a Grand soul gem for a nominal magicka boost. That, and a light iron shield enchanted with... Shield, again, with a soul gem.

- One red-black desert scarf I bough in Orcrest (Elsweyr) with Constant Resist Fire 15%. Best souvenir ever. And highly stylish.

- 2 Septim symbols I found in an abandoned fort (my char is a devoted Imperial Legion Battlemage, currently at Spearman rank).

- 3 bottles of Feldscaar Coast Honey Mead :D Yummy!

The bow of Endariil 1. Frost, shock, fire, drain health. (Self enchanted) Elven bow.
The sword of the crusader 2. (if you have no idea what it is i pity you.)
Boots of the runner 3. (Leather boots) i use it when i am wearing normal clothes or leather armor.

Oh and behind the chorrol chapel i have a stash of my alltime collected Varla stones. Up to around 40 something right now. Keep about 5 stones in my invent at all times.
