Steam seems to suggest it won't be until 3-4 am on the Nov 10. O_o As I post, 3 weeks, 2 days, 11 hours. And it's 4:37 PM

3-4am 10 november?? but the game will be available 12.01am it says so?

The release info says:

Digitally the game will become available at 12:01 am (local time) in all territories (In North America, the unlock time will be 12:01 am EST),

Well the store page says otherwise. Granted, it says "approximately 3 weeks, 2 days, and 11 hours" but an error of 3-4 hours on the store page seems a bit much.

Well...I have preordered the retail on amazon for release date. I would receive the game on release day,but being cheaper digitally and thinking about a preload and that I would be able to start playing one minute before 10th november started...makes me wanna cancel the retail...but now this misunderstanding...

This always happens with every game that gets a midnight release. The store page gets updated the day before launch to reflect the proper hour. A few hours before 12:01, expect it to shift.

That would be nice, I'll need a few hours head start to download and install 30 gigs haha!

The pre-load itself should be available a few days prior to launch. GTA V was available to download a week in advance due to its size, and then of course the launch patch that allows you to play the game dropped on release day. I imagine, given it's 30GB, we'll be given at least two or three days.

That's freakin' spiffy. But I can't help but think that allowing players a few days to have all of the files downloaded but locked would make way to early/pre-release pirated leaks, sadly, but I'm not sure that's a real problem.

The files they exclude from the download and release on launch day are necessary to run the game and would be nigh impossible to duplicate from scratch in the few days we have between pre-load and release.

Believe me, this ain't Steam & Bethesda's first rodeo.

That would make a lot of sense, I should have known this. I'd guess they leave out the .exe and .dll files or put in dummy ones, that way no one is getting anywhere until the release patch hits.

The files might be encrypted as well so that certain players won't be able to spoil information in the files. Fallout 3 and New Vegas are lacking in the cutscenes department and it is likely that Fallout 4 will be the same. However, any easy way to spoil cutscenes for certain games is using a Bink video player to view all the *.bik files. However, it is possible to see texture files and maybe sound files if the game is not encrypted properly.

Yeah, the pre-load files aren't unpacked into the game directory until release time. You can't browse through them before then.

In the mean time....

Got a doll, baby, I love her so
Nothing else like her anywhere you go
Man, she's anything but calm
A regular pint sized atom bomb

Atom bomb baby, little atom bomb
I want her in my wigwam
She's just the way I want her to be
A million times hotter than TNT

Atom bomb baby loaded with power
Radioactive as a TV tower
A nuclear fission in her soul
Loves with electronic control

Atom bomb baby, little atom bomb
I want her in my wigwam
She's just the way I want her to be
A million times hotter than TNT

Atom bomb baby, boy she can start
One of those chain reactions in my heart
A big explosion, big and loud
Mushrooms me right up on a cloud

Atom bomb baby, little atom bomb
I want her in my wigwam
She's just the way I want her to be
A million times hotter than TNT

Atom bomb baby sweet as a plum
Carries more wallop than uranium
When she kisses, there's no hitch
Zero power, she turns on the switch

Atom bomb baby, little atom bomb
I want her in my wigwam
She's just the way I want her to be
A million times hotter than TNT

Atom bomb baby, little atom bomb
I want her in my wigwam
She's just the way I want her to be
A million times hotter than TNT
Atom bomb baby, little atom bomb!
