Vault Dweller's Survival Guide Collectors Edition vs Bundle?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 4:12 pm

Is everything that's included in the http://store.gamesas.com/fallout-4-vault-dwellers-survival-guide-collectors-edition.html also included in the http://store.gamesas.com/fallout-4-ultimate-vault-dwellers-survival-guide-bundle.html?utm_source=bm23&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Image+-+FALLOUT+4+ULTIMATE+VAULT+DWELLER%27S+SURVIVAL+GUIDE+BUNDLE&utm_content=Image+-+FALLOUT+4+ULTIMATE+VAULT+DWELLER%27S+SURVIVAL+GUIDE+BUNDLE&utm_campaign=20151020bthgreatwar2&_bta_tid=3.AIYw.CEvY6Q.F0vQ.AUIlQw..AggYNA.b..l.BoeE.n...yp4ROg&_bta_c=7afnwmj2x8w98uz0gfgetx2bbh7wh?

While the "Bundle" is (much) more expensive and contains additional items, they both seem to contain the same Lithograghs, Poster-size World map and eGuide.

So again, is everything that's contained in the "Collector's Edition" the exact same items contained in the "Ultimate Bundle"? The main reason I ask is the Book Covers themselves look different. Maybe we're seeing the "Soft-touch Dust Jacket" in the Bundle?

Thanks guys=)

Personally I can't wrap my mind around the "price justification" here but hey if you are a Fallout nut then I get it. I've spent easily over $500 on Fallout gear in the past 3 months and I'm sure this is a low amount compared to others on this forum but again, if you are a Fallout nut, I get it! :fallout:

Agreed. I'll wait til it's $40 next year at this same time...well...maybe not.

The main thing that makes this all ridiculous is that the only thing the Ultimate Edition has over the Collector's Edition is the inclusion of a calendar, bottle caps and a rectangular bottle opener. If you want Nuka Cola caps, just buy custom made ones from artists for a much cheaper price.

Yeah, it seems like the same book. I can't tell whether it has a different cover, or if it's just the dust jacket that has different artwork. It seems like a rip-off price for the few extra items included.

Yeah, my guess would be that you're seeing the box and the jacket.

This is WAY overpriced. This came up in another thread, but I've lost track of that thread at the moment.

$130 = more than the Pip-Boy Edition of Fallout 4?!

- Art calendar = not needed if you're getting the art book (assuming it doesn't have exclusive art - they don't say). Would have much rather seen a game world Vault-Tec calendar.

- Nuka Cola items = nothing special and certainly not worth the price

- Box = completely unnecessary

- Jacket = nice, but not necessary, certainly not worth the price

- There's now 3 editions of a strategy guide? That's just insane.

I wouldn't be surprised. They may have gone overboard this time. Elder Scrolls Hero's Thing and Wolfenstein Panzerhund are both now half price.

Yikes LOL, people on Twitter who thought that Fallout 4 the game itself was included in this bundle. Yup, if that was true, that'd basically be the only explanation for the price.

Hardcover Guide + Map + Lithographs + eGuide = $40 (as per Collector's Edition)
Book Jacket = $5
Custom Box = $10
Calendar = $15 (if it's premium quality)
Nuka Cola metal bottle opener = $5
Nuka Cola embroidered patch = $5
Five magnetic bottle caps = $5

That should make the reasonable price about $85 give or take $5.

Wait I am so confused. So what exactly is in this bundle that isn't in the normal one?

I agree the price is to high for me too but its cheaper over on Amazon.

I can see how it gets confusing when you have three editions of a strategy guide - a strategy guide, for crying out loud - and the product naming isn't concise between them.

The Ultimate Bundle of the guide, compared to the Collector's Edition of the guide, contains the following additional items:

- A dust jacket for the hardcover book
- Custom Box to hold everything
- Fallout 4 Art Calendar
- Nuka Cola metal bottle opener
- Nuka Cola embroidered patch
- Five magnetic bottle caps

Yup. $6.50 cheaper for a product that's overpriced by $40-$50? Hmmm.

Honestly, with the original and CE versions announced originally, with this edition of the guide announced late in the game, with some pretty random stuff being added, it just feels like Bethesda is trying to cash in on the hype.

Well im not buying any of it, I don't have the extra space as it as. But I posted the link for anyone else who might want to save $ anyway they can. I figure the company who makes all this stuff is selling to Beth and Amazon. Seeing how Amazon is a bigger company then Beth. They are probably or most likely buying more in large qty. So they are able to sell cheaper per item than Beth.

Really? That's it? A dust jacket that I won't need, a calendar that will be out of date in a year, a bottle opener I won't use, bottlecap magnets that I can make myself, and a patch I could buy anywher (it isn't even it's traditional red).

I'm not saying it's a stupid buy but the things I want are the book? poster, and everything that comes in the Collectors Edition. However, I am only paying $20 for the collectors edition and they want me to pay $100 more for the same thing but with a few more items. Those five items supposedly adds up to $100?

I gotta say, I am glad no one is forcing me to buy this or I would be a littled oeeved at Bethesda.

If you pick Ultimate, yes $6.50 cheaper. But if you pick CE, than its $16s cheaper. All depends on the person, what they like/want/need.

Beth & Amazon. Its capitalism at its finest.

Edit: It appears the Ultimate price has dropped down to $96.25.

Yeah looking more into it all that is important to me includes seven lithographs, a poster-size world map, and the hard cover book. I am getting that for $20 on amazon sooooo... i think I will be skippin this.

If they added a lot of normal bottlecaps, a real nuka cola bottle, or hell maybe even a book going over the lore of the game I would be more inclined to get this. The other items though, seems silly they add up to $100... unless those 5 bottlecaps and bottlecap opener are made of sterling silver lol.
