So spoilers if you haven't played the game yet but the area to the south west in the big crater where there is tons of nuclear waste is that where the Think Tank was in New Vegas?

i thought the tink tank was near NV which is very far away from boston unless im mistaken (i dont really know US geography that well)

Naw The Think Tank was down in Navada- thousands of miles away from Boston. That crater is just ground zero for the nuke you see in the pre-war intro sequence.

The Think Tank is in Big MT. Though not specifically stated, it is inferred the location is within a reasonable proximity to New Vegas, like the Sierra Madre, Zion (we know for sure that's fairly close), and the Divide. All probably within a state's distance from southern Nevada.

Big MT was not irradiated, basically sat in a huge valley surrounded by mountains and an invisible fence, and was loaded with tons of high technology. Not near the same area at all. The...SPOILER...is absolutely desolate, and appears to be ground zero for the Boston area.
