How have you equipped & dressed Piper?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 12:51 pm

I kinda want to keep her sixy, but still want to give her protection as a companion in combat.

It seems that dresses can't be worn with armor.

The best look that I have found so far is road leathers with leather armor. Has anyone else found a nore apealing look?

Road leathers with shadowed combat armours looks quite good as well. Throw in a military cap and patrolman sunglasses on that and you got yourself a badass comando! :)

I have her dressed in road leathers with shadowed combat armor, patrolman's sunglasses and her original newsboy cap. It's a pretty good look for her.

I tried combat armor and it looked quite bulky. I changed over to modded leather armor as it hugs the figure better to not hide the female shape.

Every female in the game that I am able to dress wears the same thing...

Basic leather shoulderpads & shinguards...and nothing else.

Except Mama Murphy...she is totally naked and wearing a pompadour wig.

Spoiler
It started off as a joke for me to mess with my wife's head...and got a life of it's own.

Leather probably looks better, true that.

If you want a more "skimpy" look for her, try the "gunners harness" I think it is, it shows a bit of flesh and works well with both combat armour and leather. I think it's "military green" to start with but it should be possible to mod it to make it shadowed if you want a better color on it.

Why? Other than her looks, she isn't really any good in combat, melee or any other situation.

Red Dress upgraded with Balistic Weave might work for you, OP.

We're wearing matching Brotherhood Fatigues and Sunglasses, plus I took my dead wife's wedding ring and put on her.

I'm wearing a customized Army Helmet (IIRC. I renamed it and can't remember what it was originally.) and Piper is wearing a Military Cap.

I have a whole collection of clothes for her. I found Summer Shorts in a suitcase somewhere (giggity), all kinds of dresses. Blue sequin, Red sequin, blue/green/cream regular dresses. The Red sequin dress is pretty darn impressive looking. Oh, and a bathrobe.

I'm having a different experience than that. She'll pick up a Flame Thrower on her own, I don't even have to put it in her inventory. That seems to be her go to weapon of choice and she's deadly with it. She fried 5 Raiders with it while I just hid behind a car and watched in Concord.

If I take the Flame Thrower out of her inventory she'll go back to her stock hand gun, but as soon as we travel by another Flame Thrower laying somewhere she'll pick it up and use it. And she never seems to run out of fuel for it either.

That and a shotgun with a knife on the end. Those are the only two items I've seen her use other than her hand gun. I've tried to put other weapons in her inventory and select them but she would always go back to her hand gun.

I dress her as Cait.

By that I mean I leave her behind and take Cait.

Orange BOS uniform as her base with BOS emblazoned Combat Armor pieces (standard or sturdy--definitely not the heavy, if you want her to keep her shape) and wrap around goggles. I usually switch between the combat cap and combat armor helmet, situation dependent (she looks good in both); and deep pocket everything for her.

She makes it all look very feminine and we can go quite awhile until we need to find a container to drop everything.

Off-topic: still scratching my head as to why we can modify the vault suit, but not the BOS uniform or other base suits.

Honestly, i like her original look. It suits her fine.

I'm not fan of the "transform everyone in an american soldier" trend.

I've noticed the flamer thing as well. Take down the Forge with Piper and she will automatically pick up the first available flamer and start torching everything in sight. It was quite an experience. I didn't have to do much, but pick off the baddies out of her reach. It's the only weapon I've ever seen her pick up other than a shotgun...and she really seems to like it. Although I'm told the pistol is supposed to be her preferred AI weapon.

I took it from her to conserve ammo, but am probably going to give it back to her since I now have a short ton of flamer fuel.

After this discussion I actually feel challenged to equip my followers in a more creative way than I have before!

This will however take a huge step away from my own para-military group look.

My settlement guards around my HQ all have Shadowed combat armour over road leathers and a coast guard hat. My personal lifeguard (Cait) has a military cap and I use the same outfit but sports a boat captain hat instead! :)

road leathers and combat armor with a military beret. I think she looks cute.

Not as cute as Curie wearing BoS officer leather and synth armor however

Tattered Rags I think it's called. She's working the field on my farm somewhere. Not sure which settlement exactly, lol.

Cait on the other hand is rocking the greaser jacket and jeans with iron shin braces and a modded combat shotgun. :)
