I just re-watched the trailer in more detail and there were two things i noticed. The first may be insignificant, but every single picture in your house is of this lighthouse most likely on the cape. This could just be a design thing that means absolutely nothing, or maybe could be a hint at the PC's past. There is also a flag in a case similar to how people who were in the military will have, yet the PC has no clue what vault-tec does because he had the salesman remind him. It'd be a decent guess to say your character had a naval or coast guard past near the cape.
The second thing has to do with the scientist you grab your pip-boy off of. When scrolling through the pip-boy, Todd Howard shows the screen with notes and this is when he demonstrates the mini games you can play; but take a look at the other things listed. Two are games, however there is one that says Technician Personal Log, and a Groundskeeper log. This would then reveal that there was suppose to be living people in the vault and not just people in possible cryogenic sleep chambers. You don't just have a mechanic and a janitor for a limited amount to no people. so it would be safe to imply that this vault was suppose to house a good amount of living people. Just a thought for theories.
