Hey all.

Does anyone know whether or not the 'Misanthropic Moxie' option for building the signal interceptor is cut content or not?

It is vaguely discussed in the Fallout 4 game guide and elsewhere on the internet, but there seems to be no clear path for the option. I feel like the quest is scripted to require you to speak to the faction scientist in order to have access to the parts for building the signal interceptor device and, once you do that, you are locked in to helping that faction. I tried building it elsewhere but BoS faction scientist and Maxson both appeared there. I would like to at least try the non-faction approach but it seems like the scripting for the quest has removed the option?

(Fun tip: Do that if you really want to assassinate Maxson early on. You can end him in a place where he is completely undefended.)

Any insights?

Has anyone done the Misanthropic Moxie option? If so, how?
