Vault-Tec Guy's new job

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:26 am

I found the Vault-Tec guy, and he went to Sanctuary after I promised to visit. fine. When I visited him, the dialogue options were all about giving him a job, and sending him to other settlements, and that was fine too, but...

I have no idea what this job is, or what he's supposed to do after he gets there. Heck, I don't even remember now where I sent him because I was in the middle of a lot of different things and didn't pay it the attention that I perhaps should have. Does anyone know what this "job" is about, what he's supposed to do, and whether or not I'm supposed to pay him?

He's a settler which will do whatever you want him to.

I have him grow crops at my Red Rocket Station.

He's the only non-Companion there so I consider him the place's Caretaker while I'm away.

You can assign him to whatever you want.....if you have the perk to build shops you can make him a vendor.....or you can put him on a guard post....or assign him to farming. Whatever you want.

He does.

The Vault-Tec guy is one of the few tier 4 merchants.

Assigning him to the correct merchant stall opens up some unique items that cant be bought anywhere else.

Ooooh.....didn't know that. Makes sense to make him a vendor as his experience in marketing is more than a hint I suppose. Still.....no charisma perks here so right now he's just a bum roaming around Sanctuary.....which is fine with me for now.

Yup he is one of the Trading emporium merchants which is the only version of the shops that has multiple option on who can bring em to tier 4(Holt Combes from vault 81 is second one avilable for same position,if his wife dumps him for cheating which is something you can eather encurage or prevent via dialouge, trader Raylee is the 3rd option for it)

According to the official guide

The Scribe - Random Encounter - Armor seller

Doc Anderson - Random Encounter - Medic

Ann Hargraves - Found at the WRVR radio station - Clothing

Ron Staples - Random Encounter - Restaurant

Vault-Tec Rep - Goodneighbor - General store

Rylee - Random Encouter - General store

Holt Combes - Vault 81 - General store

Smiling Larry - Random Encouter - Weapons

Are all tier 4 merchants

I think Tina De-Luca in Vault 81 is one also for the chem store, but she isn't listed in the guide.

In my game he runs the general store in the Slog. And he is great at his new job; I got a combat armour chest with a luck bonus from him.

Tina is bugged so it's about impossible for her to actually join you now.....talking to her about it prevents you from completing a mini quest in vault 81 and she doesn't actually move and you never get to choose where to send her.

Tina De-Luca is bugged atm so even if you persuade her to join one of your settlemnts you never get a choice to send her to one, and while she will talk about being excited to leave vault 81 she never actualy will.

Heh was to slow with my responce, btw you can still get the quest to finish though even if you talk to her just go to doctors office and talk to female doctor there and tell her you have a new patient for her.

He runs the general store in Sanctuary with me. He seems a lot happier. You know, he's a good guy. Not even hired by Vault Tec. It was like a contest to win steak knives.

I'm turning Starlight Drive into the Commerical Hub of the Commonwealth (and muscling out Trudy and her addict son in the process...sorry Trude!), so I was happy to know I could send Vault-Tec (What, he even says it himself. "I AM Vault-Tec!") there.

I wonder if Sheffield from Diamond city is a tier 4 merchant, he is recruitable in the same way as the others, but isn't listed in the guide.

I gave him a job as a General Store merchant without even knowing about the Tier-4 merchant deal. I figured that's just where he'd be the most happy.

Neat. B)

According to Fallout 4 edit, hes is classified as a "bar" vendor, so put him on that for best results.

I dressed him up with a clean black suit and bowler hat. I put him in charge of a tier 3 Clothing Store. That turned out to be a major win, as the clothing store provided a constant supply of fine attire to dress up the rest of the townsfolk with. It's safe to say vault-tech guy brought style back to the wasteland!

I like having a tier 4 merchant but I have some kind of bug where every time I talk to him I offer him a job in a dialog and then I can actually shop from his store and it gets annoying the millionth time I have that conversation.

I guess I'll have to find out where I sent him, and (if I ever get the required perk) try giving him a stall.
