Hi,
I can play Skyrim at 1600x1200 (I have a square flat panel monitor lol) at 60 FPS using the above hardware. I can play Far Cry 3 at close to 60 FPS most places.
I know based on the min req my hardware isn't up to spec, but do you think playing at 1600x1200 will help it stay playable?

To answer your question, that really depends on your definition of "playable" and whether or not the game has built in hardware cutoffs. If it does play, it probably won't be pretty, with minimum settings and low FPS. Remember that Fallout 4 was also designed for a completely new generation of consoles, and the system requirements are a fair bit above the now 4-years-old Skyrim, so the graphics and processor needs will be higher than what that kind of system really seems capable of.

From all the info we have no your rig will not be able to handle the game at those settings, Cpu what version is it i7, i5 or AMD.
RAM certainly not way under powered for the game, since a lot of games these days really do require a lot of system RAM and GFX RAM as well.
So hate to burst your bubble you might run into issues running the game at higher resolution.

I have a Core 2 Duo (e8500) overclocked at 3.8 GHZ, 4GB ram, and a 1GB Radeon 6850. I can play skyrim at 1600x1200 @ 60 fps, and Far Cry 3 at close to 60 FPS.
Do you think I will be able to play the game?
