Pip-boy App compatibility?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:14 pm

I was surprised when I found I couldn't run Fallout shelter on my $400 Eee-Pad Transformer or Sprint phone. The app store said it wasn't compatible with either.

Now I'm worried that I'm equally screwed with the Pip-boy app once it becomes available.

Anyone seen a compatibility list or requirements for the App?

Or is it just fair to assume anyone with hardware more than one or two years old is just out of luck?

Your device should be compatible with the companion app. It's not an actual game so I don't see any issues.

I would NOT assume this. An app is an app, whether it's a game or not.

(And by the way, the Companion App will likely have games in it, since it's a second-screen experience of the in-game Pip-Boy, which was shown to have mini games.)

Valid point. But I would guess that the OP will have no trouble getting the companion app to work on his device.

Yeah, it's hard to say what devices it'll work on. All they've given us so far is phone sizes using IPhones and Galaxy's as examples. Have you checked recently? Fallout shelter wasn't available for android until mid Aug.

Yeah.. I gave it a shot on both devices.

I won't buy a new pad or phone just for the app but....

...(insert pathetic whimpering noises here)

According to my experience developers are often too conservative in their estimates on which devices their apps will run. I encountered a lot of apps that were working on my device despite the play store telling me that it is not compatible. In such a case you just need another device that is deemed compatible by the play store and rooted, then you can easily copy the app to another device and try it out.

Assume if fallout shelter wont work that the pip boy app may not as well.
