Something to Brag About

Is anyone else excited to see what kinds of rare items we can strive for in-game? Personally I'm hoping there's a few special objects/weapons/armour that are incredibly rare or hard to get, something kind of like Firelance but maybe not so common.

Do you prefer low encounter/drop chance or to grind out a high price for a rare item?

I like the idea of well-implemented rare loot, but this isn't really the Bethesda way. It seems technically anyone can get the same loot as anyone else with the same amount of effort, which is not much effort. But I can certainly hope that there will be loot lists with very, very rare items in them to be found in containers or on enemies.

I wouldn't mind a few treasure hunts.

Yeah, I like some rare loot.. you get a nice "hey, wow!.. I found it!" feeling with items like the firelance. I wouldn't want too much of that though. I'm not a big fan of drop chance only items. I like how they've done most of the rarer items in the past.. even if there's something that only has a low chance of dropping there's usually a guaranteed one somewhere in the game.

Oh man, imagine dismantling an alien blaster and putting the parts onto other weapons...

I absolutely hate RNG items. Not once have I ever seen a game where being unable buy certain items in stores or find them in a fixed location added to the experience. That's one of the major problems I had with KotoR II; I spent hours save scumming to get good lightsaber crystals.
