Fallout 4 - Build Planner

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 8:09 am

Found a link to a neat http://www.rpg-gaming.com/fo4.html. Looks pretty good I think.

I like that it only contains confirmed information that has been released by bethesda. I found another build planner somewhere else,

but it contained a bunch of speculations on the various perks and their descriptions and effects. While that was fun to read it was a

bit pointless building a character on probably redundant information. This tool seems much better. Plus, it looks pretty sixy imo :)

That's just a SPECIAL calculator? Oh.....

Edit: nvm it's just a really poorly formatted site. Would be nice to use and plan a character before the game launches but without knowing all the perk info it's useless like the other one

It's pretty clunky and has poor formatting, and is pretty outdated when it comes to info (it doesn't even have a description for gun nut which we have official info on), but it's cool and fun to play with!

Edit: This is what I mean by clunky... Try leveling up and using your mouse wheel to scroll down and up in the perk picking window, it doesn't scroll it just skips to the top and bottom so you have to grab the scroll bar manually to see the perks in the middle. Personally I felt Vault 111 was more cleaned up and didn't make my eye twitch when reading things like special descriptions, notice the many typos and huge spaces between words so that each line is "justified". But otherwise it's fine, I just prefer Vault 111 more plus speculative descriptions were removed from descriptions so it's confirmed stuff only it seems.

Actually, besides my complaints in the edit of my last post, this site does have some advantages over Vault 111. You can level up your character and keep picking perks, problem is you have to entirely reset your character if you want to make adjustments to your SPECIAL unlike on v111. But v111 only lets you pick your SPECIAL then peek at perks, that's it, that's all it does. This site lets you make a build and plan it out more.

For the record, both sites contain completely unconfirmed info that is total speculation though, like one site calling the luck 5 perk dumb luck and the other calling it pot luck. I'd just prefer they leave the name blank unless there's reasonable evidence such as the perk pic existing in prior games, but neither site seems to think that.

Yeah I can see your points. However, just out of curiosity, which browser are you using? The mouse wheel scroll thing works fine for me in chrome.

Firefox, that might explain it. How odd.

not really, a lot of back end stuff that uses cutting edge css can vary a lot between browsers. But yes, it should be fixed I agree.

As for preferences, I just think the vault111 version looks like a high school student designed it. But meh, horses for courses.

Horses for courses...you must be British? haha

I agree that the overall design is better than vault111's, I was mainly pointing out how vault111 had less errors like misspelled words and formatting.

Australian actually, but yes I totally get your points man. Its still in alpha, and typos and minor graphical glitches are easily fixed I think, where as overall site design is more important and I think rpg-gaming has it well beat in this regard.

Agreed! I think I'll plan my character on this site, it does feel better in the long run.
