Poor AI in the new perk video

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 10:55 am

This is most likely the case.

Everybody on here is acting like they will have changed this and that it is going to be different from the past games. But I'm positive if they had changed it, they would have showcased it at e3/quakecon/gamescon already. Either way it doesn't matter to me, and I would bet money that the guard would barely react even if you stood there for an hour with a gun at his head.

The clip wasn't even a minute long. Are you kidding?

Recall the footage from the E3 reveal video, such as the power armor scene - enemy AI seems to still be mind-numbingly poor as the enemies were just standing out in the open, not taking cover even though there was plenty. Face it, guys, Bethesda ranks very, very low when it comes to AI.

Dear God. Do the damn Vault Boy animations need to show up in everything we do? If Todd Howard's explanation of things is going to be "It just works," can't we have the perks just work in our game, rather than plastering a sick green animation over everything to let you know that the perk you picked is actually doing something?

Every single friendly camp (outside Megaton) I've been in the people openly carried.

The only ones that died from those flamethrowers were the ones already in the line of fire when they activated, the rest didn't walk directly into it. :P

Ya and a couple just stood in the fire and continued to aim and shoot, crazy raiders.

And people wonder why Bethesda doesn't want to release any previews of the game.

I am forced to agree, many people's expectations are way too high .

But I get it, it's fun to speculate on improvements, it's more exciting. I've been let down too many times, so I am very cautious about that now.

The only thing I found odd was the delayed reaction from the npcs in the background.

Although a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire or has a couple of circular saw blades attached should raise a few eyebrows. A baseball bat like that is not something that will be used in a decent game of baseball.

I wonder if people live in the sky-boxes at Fenway. Do they have sky-boxes at Fallout Fenway?

And if you've got a store called Swatters in your Fenway-turned-postnuclear-settlement where they sell weaponized baseball bats?

Then they don't play a decent game of baseball, but something far more violent. Batters don't drop their bat after they hit the ball, but persuade the other team members to allow the batter to use the various bases.
