Preload issue for XBOX1

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 7:08 pm

SIAP. As you can see this is my first post here, although of been lurking this site for info for quite sometime.

I digitally preordered this game for my XBOX and was expecting it to go on ahead and download the game. Well I watched it DL and finish within minutes...Obviously it didn't DL the entire game. Is there something wrong or does anyone know when it'll completely DL? I was hoping to play this game at 12:01

Yea I was afraid of that. Guess I'll have to wait till morning to play it. Hopefully my XBOX utilizes my entire bandwidth.

Live specifically says it will download the full game and be playable at release. I'd think due to server load they displace downloads to different times. Some have already confirmed full downloads so I'd think that yours will be doing the same in the coming days. I wouldn't worry about it.

Games normally preload 2 days before release. I wouldn't worry until the 8th.

More than likely there will be a queue of sorts for pre-downloading as the release day approaches. The placeholder may be part of that mechanism. This way the servers are not overloaded with all consoles loading this at once.

So, it might be worthwhile to leave your Xbox on or on the low power setting which I think allows updates to happen, between now and November 10th. That will give you a better chance to play the game as early as possible.

I wouldn't be concerned. It will be fully downloaded by release day. If not, then you unfortunately encountered a dl bug and you'll have to re-download it.

I just pre-ordered it digitally on XB1 today and it is fully installed.

As for the 28gb download, Bethesda is known for their compression techniques, even on last-gen. 28gb could be more like 60gb uncompressed.

I'm on Xbox one, and after uninstalling and reinstalling the game it fully downloaded all 28.1 gigs for me.

As DynasticMean mentioned above, you should be able to download the game now, but playable only on Nov 10th

...according to this: http://www.vg247.com/2015/10/26/fallout-4-pre-load-confirmed-for-pc-ps4-and-xbox-one/

i downloaded it yesterday from xbox live for my xbox one and it fully downloaded so you can always delete the download and just redownload it or else wait and see if it downloads the rest, in a worse case scenario just contact xbox live, i just talked to them tonight on text chat, they have a good tech support for this very thing, i wouldn't worry you'll have it figured out by the day its released its still about 10 days away

Can you please stop using the term downloaded? Nothing has been downloaded. Fallout 4 has just reserved some space on your hard drive for when it actually becomes available.

Actually no. The game has actually fully downloaded for quite a number of people already. But it is obviously encrypted to prevent playing until the 10th.

This. The game downloaded onto my console a few days ago. Just deleted it and re-installed it because I'm using that time zone glitch to be able to play Fallout 4 19 hour earlier. Watched the 28.1 gigs download. "Reserving space" does not take over an hour. (I have Google Fiber, hence the speed. Normal people probably have to wait like 2 days to download that much, lol.)

Same here, mine downloaded just the other day. Given the amount of time it took to do it, I would have to conclude that the game is fully downloaded and is just waiting to be played.
