Any confirmation if players can be asian in Fallout 4?

Native americans don't like the term indians. Its like calling a black person the n word. They prefer native or native american.

It doesn't seem like there's much official pre-war racial discrimination, perhaps the only thing pre-war USA did well. Rather, it seems yo be focused on political discrimination.

For everything Liberty Prime could have called the enemy forces he was supposed to fight, "Red Chinese" seems less of an insult of race and more of a recognition that he's supposed to fight communist chinese people. No need for him to have specified "Red" if it was ALL chinese.

And remember, in Fallout 1, we get a shot of US soldiers executing a Canadian POW as pro-US wartime propoganda. It's doubtful that the US military would have Liberty Prime speak using PC terms to make him look like the good guy if they want the US population to see them commit war crimes.

My god. This thread hahaha...

Anyway, you could be Asian in past games, I really doubt this game will be any different or that Bethesda would have any reason to remove a "race" such as Asian.

Pretty sure they showed off a preset Asian face when they were on the character creator at E3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5esyZPt5Jo

Skip to 6:44 and you'll see it.

America is the only place left. Everywhere else was destroyed during or before the great war.

Also the "American Dream" type feel going on wouldn't work anywhere else.

That's because an apocalyptic setting in America is more interesting.

America still generally puts other countries to shame in a lot of things, especially when it comes to entertaing calamities - both foreign and domestic. So is it any surprise we would focus on the greatest infrastructure in the world (Us) to thus create the greatest contrast (American 50s normal to utter desolation)

The game has a Sims 4 style character creator, so you will be able to create any character you want virtually speaking.

 :fallout:

I confirm that the Japanese are solely responsible for determining who in this world is gay.

For the same reason TES games don't take place outside of the continent of Tamriel, they just don't need to. There is so much history and lore and a theme going on that it would be like starting over making a game outside of the USA.

I often daydreamed about what's happening in EU. Moriarty came from there (or more probably ran from there), so the situation can't be much better.

It would be interesting to see.

Most of the EU was destroyed in resource war but Britan seems to have survived likely thanks to the sea seprataing them from europe.

To the guys referencing the newest episode of south park you guys are awesome! :)

To the people asking why only in america? Because "AMERICA!!! [censored] YAAAA!!!" But serously fallout is to america as metro is to russia does that make sense? Good :)

And to the people just complaining to complain (not just in this thread but all the threads that have the culprits)
I have two words for you

Fallout 3 and New Vegas have given us an Asian preset. Although from a lore perceptive your character can not be of Chinese decent else they would have been shipped off to the experimentation... I mean ethical internment camps. I know that would svck if you wanted to play a Chinese character, but it still leaves open the rest of the Far East.

It would've made for some odd...and interesting roleplay if you wanted to play a Chinese-American. How would you explain that?

Nope. Not true. There are a lot of American Indians were I live in San Diego and I know for a fact that they don't mind being called Indians. They actually refer to themselves as Indians.

Like another post said, it's the people that are not Indians that make this assumption.

Not true, we actually don't mind at all, because race doesn't matter, it's the content of the person's character. :whisper:

I think its because the setting is a ruined ideal of american 50s culture. Its also made by an american company.

I can't see why they wouldn't have Asian presets, past games did.

I at least would love to see what other parts of the world might be like in fallout.. even just some news from whats happening elsewhere in the world.. i mean there has to be some other survivors elsewhere it would be interesting to know whats happening over the seas ect.

Perhaps another country could send people to america to try to steal stuff or something so wed have a reason to know about them or something.
