Trouble in Diamond City? *Discussion*

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 3:58 pm

I have been considering the hierarchy of Diamond City lately, and I am curious as to what exactly we will see.

In Fallout 3, Megaton was basically the Sheriff and the crooked Bartender. Rivet City had its own council. What exactly will we see come out of Diamond City?

From what we have seen so far, Diamond City looks like it will be a good bit bigger than just Fenway. I think Bethesda has decided it wants to get more serious about capturing the feel of a large, up and coming city trying to reestablish civilization. In the Fallout Shelter (and Piper reveal trailer) we see that Piper has some gripes with what could be somebody trying to suppress her right to get the news to the people.

Is this perhaps the ruling body of Diamond City at work, or thugs? And if she is having trouble with thugs, one would assume the Diamond City Security could more or less handle it, seeing as her office is inside Diamond City and in close proximity to help at any one time.

Is it possible Diamond City is covering something up? Mutant attack son the rise? Close neighbor MiT causing trouble (obviously they probably are to some extent)? Brotherhood of Steel moving in, and Diamond City is afraid of them? So many possibilities.

So, what do you think? What/who rules Diamond City? Are they facing a potential crisis?

A baseball team led by their coach, and if someone gets out of line a referee. All the other citizens are the members of the crowd.

Where there must be other settlements as one of the achievements is to make your settlement an ally to 3 other settlements.

From what I've seen heard Diamond City is the ruins of Fenway so I doubt it's bigger per se.

I think the problem is really that newspaper is Piper's front, and she is actually in charge of the best brothel in Diamondcity. Lately, another brothel has been stealing her business, and she wants them eliminated. You need to infiltrate The Bouncing Bed n Breakfast, find out the secret behind Madame Big Tubby Betty's rise in business, and eliminate the competition once and for all. Once completed you can romance Piper and take her along as a companion, and also get free services at her house of ill repute.

Check out the 'Big League Perk' video Bethesda put out not to long ago. It appears that they aren't in Fenway in one particular clip. I think they also have the surrounding area under control and perhaps a few outpost?

I think someone mentioned that the Quakecon footage showed Piper getting yelled at by a mayor of sorts because of what she was reporting. Perhaps this is why she seemed frustrated in the short footage we got of her, and she's questioning the player about their stance on the news because the mayor is telling her she has to stop reporting.

Diamond City is run by the Mayor. Maybe a corrupt Mayor.

The current Diamond City's ruling class is corrupt in some way, and Piper wants to expose it. We can help her, and join the free voice of the Commonwealth, or shut her down and join said ruling class and enjoy whatever perks that entails.
