Strategy guide. Any word for it yet?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 8:50 am

Is there any word about the Fallout 4 strategy guide? Will there be a deluxe edition like for Skyrim? Yes, yes, I know, you can get all the info for free on the net. I like collecting strategy guides for games I love. I lost my Arena one, but still have my Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion (somewhere), Skyrim collectors guide, missed out on Fallout 3, but have New Vegas and Witcher 3 collectors edition as well.

So I would love to get Fallout 4 collectors edition if there is one. Just want to plan for it budget wise, and need to know how much to save to get it. So is there any info on it. If so any links to it, or please say what you know.

Thanks for taking your time to answer if you do so.

Prima publishes a strategy guide,

I preordered one because I love them (if sparingly on first play through).

Just search 'Fallout 4 Vault Dweller's Survival Guide' in your territory...

In the UK they are £17/£10 though your currency may vary.

Wow, just WOW the price. Am I reading this correctly? Over $100 just for a can opener and 4 or 5 magnetic bottle caps? Other than that I don't see the difference between the Ultimate Collectors guide and just the Collectors guide.

Hoping there's an eventual GOTY-type edition of the guide down the road, similar to the Fallout 3 and Skyrim publications (New Vegas sadly not receiving an expanded edition). Either way, it's a David Hodgson joint, so even the "vanilla" day-one launch version should be well worth picking up.

I pre-ordered NV guide and ended up never using it because it's not like you can do CTRL-F and search for a key word. If the physical book came with a digitial copy, like Diablo 3 did, then it would be more worth getting. Otherwise, I bet you'll end up just searching for a walkthrough on Google.

I stopped getting Strat guides with Fallout 3. Perhaps I should start again.

I doubt I will get one since I believe the last one I got was for Diablo 2 Lords of Destruction.

This again?

There are three - count 'em, THREE - versions of this strategy guide:

1) Paperback version. Cheapest, but not by much. $17.57 on Amazon. ($30 Bethesda store.) In order to find this one on Amazon, you have to click on the Collector's Edition, and then on the product page, select "Paperback." Sold out in the Bethesda store.

2) Hardcover Collector's Edition. Only $23.99 on Amazon. Good price for the upgrade to hardcover. ($40 Bethesda store.) It includes a map and lithographs (7 Vault Boy SPECIAL illustrations).

3) "Ultimate...Bundle" version. This is the ridiculously priced one that includes the additional goodies compared to the Colletor's Edition: bottle opener, bottle caps, patch, dust jacket for the book, artwork calendar (likely unnecessary if you're buying the art book) and it's all packed up in a custom box. It's down to $77.99 on Amazon. It's out of stock in the Bethesda store.

I'd go with the second option.

Yeah, I pre-ordered the hardcover.. I do so love hardcover guides. The only hard part is scanning maps so I can use them to mark off where I've been.
