Fallout Concept Artwork

Post » Sat Jun 12, 2010 11:10 am

Hi all - my name's Caleb. I'm a comic-book and concept artist based in Irvine, CA, and long-time fan of Fallout. I thought I'd have a go at posting on the forum to see if I could get a response regarding some Fallout-themed concept art I did in early 2008.

Shared thoughts, comments and critiques are always encouraged!

If I eat your hands will I get your sick drawing skills?
EDIT: That 2nd pic is giving me a Nicolas Cage vibe, is that weird?

Very cool artwork .

The originality is even better.

This is the good thing about independent work. You're never bugged by regulations relating to the most absurd of things.

Keep up the art!

Yes.... yes it is. :P Jk

They are some really good drawings. I particularly like the one picture where it's the full suit of armor. Great job.

HAH! Yeah, yeah it is.

Also, my hands have negligible nutritional value. I'd recommend against eating them.

Thanks a bunch for all the comments, everybody!

Okay, Iain - I'll have a go at some more Fallout work and post my progress here, unless anyone objects.

response?

Holy popping power Armour, Batman!!

btw, I'm just learning the ropes with Blender and was admiring the 2045 .300 Magnum Rifle..

Mind if I take a stabb at modelling it?
No guarantees it'll amount to anything, like I said, just learning.. but it's nice and boxy, which makes it imo easier to model
-am I correct to assume that the part just above the clip is an extended revolver cylinder that -somehow- is fed from the clip?

the magnum rifle is one of the coolest things ever. For some reason, i like impractical but still awseome weapons. except that actcually looks somewhat practical. Just heavier than anything.

I like the second one where he's running with that big rifle. Pretty cool scene I think. Awesome work all the way around, Caleb. :tops:

Sure thing, Andy - only, please share what you model, okay? It is, in fact, meant to feed from magazine to cylinder, with spent cartridges ejecting through the break above the cylinder, like a semi-auto pistol. How does the magazine feed into the cylinder? Rainbow magic. It's essentially a slow-to-reload one-shot/one-kill bang bang.

Again, thanks for all the helpful comments, everybody. I really appreciate them.
