Fo4 Build Planning in a dynamic Perk Chart View

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:25 pm

Hey guys,

I have the hardest time I've ever had to decide what type of character to play.

So, I built a http://www.gameplorer.de/fo4/ a few days ago. I wanted to make a tool in a "perk chart view"

with everything on a single page for a better overview and calculations for maximum health and

carry weight. :goodjob:

What do you think? Do you need or miss something in this planner?

I would be happy to read some feedback and add some more features, if you need anything.

Give it a try and let me know what you think:

http://www.gameplorer.de/fo4/

(And if you're trying it and you have a great build, please post it here. Would love to see some builds. :batman: )

Vault111.com says you start with: "85 Hit Points, 70 Action Points, and have a carry weight of 210." with all stats at 1, your page says: 90 Hit Points · 80 Action Points · 220 Weight

I have no idea myself which one that is correct, vault111 has outdated perk trees so it might be incorrect.

Vault111 also specifies that you have 21 perk points to put out, so it might be a good idea to specify somwhere that you only have a total of 21 perkspoints to specify at the start.

Other than that it looks great, I was looking for a site that had everything on 1 page for easy navigation, great work!

Might I suggest an option to input the Level and then have X points to distribute (maybe as an option to the open ended current state). Other than that, good work.

I'm pretty sure I'll just be using straight 4's initially. Just the Perks I want in 4 and under will keep me busy for quite some time.

Here's my sniper build. I made this in about 2 minutes, so I'll update as I fine-tune it.

#1--7-1-3-5-3-2

Awesome build planner, btw.

(How does link posting permission work, since I don't have?)

Well done Dusel. Your page is functionally better. It is too full of ads and distractions, but it is where I'll go for my planning.

Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it.

@Novice: Yeah, right now the exact increase in health & carry weight is unclear. I haven't found enough proof and samples to know the exact formular right now. But I've prepared everything and can correct it as soon as the information is available. The planner will be able to claculate your health and weight by attributes, perks and by char level, too (e.g. in Fo3 it was like 10 health per level).

Good catch, thanks man. Is fixed.

I'm on the hop and have to anser the rest a bit later. If you have any further questions, feedback or build ideas, please feel free to post them here.

The commando perk doesn't mention the hip fire accuracy and stagger improvements.

Nice job! I like this better than the vault111 one.

Thanks Tzetch! I just reworked the tooltips and added the required char level (if known so far). With this update Commando should mention everything, too.

Thanks man, glad you like it!

Buuut, on the page is only one ad. The things at the right are internal links and the core service of the site (we run price comparisons for games and are searching for great deals every day - but focused on Germany). If it looks like external ads, that's really bad news for me and I have to figure something out. :-( Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I wonder if Black Smith also includes unarmed weapons? It only says "melee" but perhaps he means both for that in mind?

that is a nice page Dusel.

Would it be possible to have the option to add a free skill point to specials (Bobblehead) without increasing the character level?

Thanks Bro! I'm thinking about this option since you wrote it. I'm missing an idea how to implement it right now without adding complexity. But I keep it in mind!

Hey Frost, adding Bobbleheads is an awesome idea. I'm in the middle of it already! :-)
