So... I have a vacation planned

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 9:36 am

A few months ago we planned a 4 day trip to visit Florida.. sadly, this trip takes place 2 days after the release of Fallout 4.

Should I start the game only to have to stop for 4 days? Should I wait until my vacation ends to play?

Still deciding. but I'd like to know what other peoples opinions are.

I think you should sneak in a few hours and then enjoy your holiday. You'll get to experience the game and won't be checking online/phone for information about it while on holiday.

How important is the trip? Can you see if you can cancel or push the trip back a week or so. If you do end up going on the trip after playing only a couple of days of the game chances are your body will be on the trip but your mind will be in the world of fallout 4.

Vacation?!....why would you go any were else other then the wasteland? I hear Boston is really nice, for a post apocalyptic city that is.

Obviously the right answer is to take the game and console with you by building a gaming system in the back of your car. And play on the road. And then continue after you stop at hotels or whatever you're staying.

I've been to Florida a number of times.

A visit to the Commonwealth is likely to be more edifying.

I grew up in Florida. It's got lots of plants, humidity, bugs and other assorted fauna. There are beaches and bars and palm trees.

There, now you won't miss anything. So you can take your console with you and play while the rest of your family that has not read this thread goes out and looks at the sand and bugs.

I think you should hold off. Your level of distraction during your vacation will be 10 time higher if you play a little before you go than if you wait until you get home. Try and enjoy your vacation for what it is without getting into the game and then getting a case of video game epididymal hypertension when you have to put it down and wait to get home to play again.

Don't see why you would make yourself wait after the vacation. Play it for what time you have in those two days before, go on vacation, come back and play some more.

Well the way I see it is you've got four days when nobody is expecting you to show up anywhere for anything related to life obligations.....the ideal thing would be to cancel the bore of a trip you have planned and instead go on a four day trip across the Boston wasteland in Fallout 4.

I'd personally enjoy it for a couple of days before the family trip. Building up tension might in theory increase your overall enjoyment/excitement for the game.

Either way, you've got a good problem to have.

Just play Point Lookout instead before you leave for the trip. It will give you your Fallout fix and prepare you for the people you'll meet in Florida at the same time.

I'd play around with it before I left. That simple act would appease a lot of my own curiosity about the game.. would most likely make the vacation better as I wouldn't still be anxiously awaiting playing the game.
