Does anyone want the mobile companion app on Windows Phones?

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 2:20 pm

I've noticed a trend that only shows release of apps to iOS and Android, but notice those that use Windows Phones that run Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and soon Windows 10 are left out. I'm interested in the community's thoughts on including the app for Windows Phone users. I'm sure that there are those Windows Phone users out there that will be purchasing a PIP Boy Edition without a way to enjoy it as intended. I'm not sure of the circumstances behind the app not being available, but I was curious to your thoughts.

My first thing to say is get rid of your windows phone! I myself have never been more miserable with a phone in my life.

Secondly, and the most important part, I heard its out on WP. Look up Fallout 4 Pip-boy or Bethesda Softworks. It's out now

Where's the option for "Yes, even though I personally use a superior platform"?

I have a windows phone. Its great but there isn't universal apps for it. However this would svck if they did this because I bought a new Ipod touch just for the app.... would svck now if they released it for windows phone.

Yes, believe or not. Just because we are a minority we shouldn't be excluded.

Bethesda.net says it will be available for us lowly WP users. it's just not been released early like the others it seems.

Not excluded, but convinced to join the dark side and leave behind this travesty of a mobile operating system (and try to avoid these fruit lovers, they are weird, too).

As someone who has used Android for great many years and recently got WP, I call your claim BS.

On the topic. I don't really care much as I probably wouldn't use this. But I do think it would be good if it was available on all three platforms.

I (or rather, my girlfriend) will be using the iPad version of the app, but it does seem unfair that it isn't available for Windows phones (although some people say it is available )

I'm quite looking forward to this feature combined with the naming of custom weapons. Can't wait to say "Sweetheart, would you please equip the Face Masher?"

Ummmm....It's in the Windows Store for Windows Phone.
I downloaded it yesterday.

Search "Bethesda" or "Fallout Pip-Boy"

Hmmm....I can still see it there. I've read there were some issues with it showing up in the store.

Try downloading the Windows Central app, scroll down to the article about the Pip-Boy app that was posted yesterday. Open the article in the app, slide to screen right and hit Download App.

That should work.

Na, WPs have about a 3% market share. It cost money to port over an app to a different platform and the app is 100% free with absolutely no monetization planned for it. With a smaller user base, fewer apps should be expected and if you didn't know that, you should have done your research.

To note, I'm just being blunt here, not necessarily mean. I can just imagine someone saying, "it's not fair that I don't get this." Yes, it totally is. It's a completely free app and you're on a platform that barely has a user base. It makes money sense.

WP already has the app so your blunt little comments were unnecessary.

ok,well the WCA is a paid app and all it does is connect you to WC.com. went directly to windowscentral.com and found the article. in the article it says the link to the app isn't working and that the app doesn't appear in the universal store but does appear if searching manually in the 8.1 store but I can't seem to find no matter what I do.

Then isn't this whole thread unnecessary?

At any rate, good for WP users, cheers mate, and have a splendid day.

Well...yes and no. When using the app's Download App button, it takes me to the app in the store.
When using the link at Windowscentral.com, it's a bad link.

That's why I suggested using the app.

Why not just use a android emulator for pc, it lets you use every app and connects to the playstore like a phone would.

Ok, so the windowscentral app has a trial so i was finally able to bring up the app via the article and guess what?

It requires 1gb ram and my phone only has 512mb. Doh! Thanks anyway though.
