Able to play comfy

A fresh cup of coffee, some chew, and a warm blanket are all in arm's reach. I can't help but share my character builds with the forum. So as my title states "Able to play comfy", in the latest two Fallout releases I always end up exploring the wastes wearing no real armor. Never. I always end up wearing what i think suites me best, and if that includes the Chinese fatigues (chinese because U.S. fatigues weren't included in the game), the cowboy outfit from Mothership Zeta, or the NCR ranger clothes, that's what i had. I never carried more than what i needed at the time either (long...LLLOOOOONGGGG adventures to gather loot), so my main weapon of choice was either a sturdy rifle or pistol, with a shotgun as backup and some grenades for making noise. This was very realistic to me in the sense that a normal wastelander couldn't possible wear, afford, or even find something like power armor. But having a base to build upon, a normal survivor could scrap something together like the NCR Ranger combat armor. So just thinking about being able to build my own personal armor set has my expectations way to high and i probably need to lower them...

I am curious about this also, i haven't looked to deeply into the perk chart or the ranks either but that armour smithing perk looks very interesting. I can't see running around the entire game in the power armour, as awesome as it is, just heavy but being able to craft your own unique armour would be awesome.

I'm ready to go! Got my comfort zone/game cave sorted, drinks/munchies within arms reach. Got my character build sorted by studying the perk chart in depth. All I need is the game

I've always built light armor/clothing type characters as well. TES is rather easy since you can enchant clothes. I never really had too much trouble in F3 or NV because I go for stealth and sniping. I hardly ever stick to one outfit though and I do enjoy playing dress up. I have a feeling that the armor crafting system is really going be a big chunk of gameplay for me. I'll want to make every version of every outfit/armor there is.

If you're able to, I'm playing the entire game in power armor. I NEED that option.

I usually end up in Combat Armor, as a tactical compromise.
My characters tend to open up from long range. But sooner or later, somebody yells "C'mon you apes! You want to live forever?"

And, well, at that point you gotta get close and stay upright.

My female protagonist will be on the lookout for some pre-war outfits.

But then again, that vault suit ... !

Pretty much the same here, always sneak and shoot at a distance. Occasionaly i change up weapons, like when i found that gauss sniper rifle in NV i used that instead of Guns related weapons. Same with armor, though i did play the first playthrough almost completly with leather armor, only ungrading to the advanced version of it later on. Looking realy forward to the armor crafting and the weapon crafting too, simple fact that you can mod something that starts as a pistol, into a full blown sniper is great.

Yea the weapon modification is another thing too. Allowing me to hone in a (Lets say m14) and "possibly" add a bayonet, or shorten the barrel, or add a scope, increase fire rate, whatever the case may be... theres a good chance that my character build will be different that most everyone elses. By build i dont mean just perks and stats, im talking about what

weapon i use, the armor i have, and the play style i use according to those weapons.

And well personally i cant stand bulky armor...maybe its different in 4, but power armor, combat armor, metal armor, all of it just didnt look right and thats not how i roll IRL.
