Besides 81 and 111 I mean......been reading that we now know that Fallout 4 has at least 311 locations datamined from the Pip-Boy app and was wondering how many beautiful Vaults there are out there for us to find in Fallout 4.

That's a good number.....I like that. Hopefully the Season Pass will bring us one or two more too. Vaults are like christmas......so much mystery and awesomeness you never know what goodies are in the box.

Thing is... Bethesda is kinda-sorta running out of...the ability to implement vaults into the game world, if they wish to follow the per-established canon, that is (can retcon if they want, I suppose). I remember someone saying on the forum about there only being, like...10 or so more vaults that can be put on the East Coast of Fallout before breaking canon or some-such.

Yet?

The game's not even %￡@ out ...

Surely they can come up with ideas beyond the Vault-Tec ones......especially if the franchise ever moves to another continent......there could always be different stories....secret vaults, different vault companies, etc.

They can easily say that each of the 13 regions or even each state had its own vault network.

That would explain why vault 13 was a newer vault than 101

Technically, no canon source has stated how many vaults there are.

The idea that there are 122 vaults is from the Fallout Bible, which Avellone himself is non-canon.

Its impossible to run out of Vaults because its never been established how many there are.

SPOILER: i know of 1 vault in the game besides 111, its vault 75.

Actually they can, once they have managed to put in enough vualts 700,000,000 years from now to account for everyone that was alive at the beginning of the great war....

Obviously, there is a total of 1000 Vaults.

I feel like there are probably other vaults aside from those that Vault-Tec made. I say this because I'd imagine the Enclave had fallout shelters scattered across America separate from those in the experiments to serve as a backup in case their plans to colonize another planet didn't work. Using secret vaults that are vaguely Enclave-esque could be interesting.
