Textures look like [censored]? (game is amazing, but graphic

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 11:43 pm

I know that graphics does not make a game, but why are the textures sooo bad? Even on Ultra. Like, blurry to the point of being unrecognizable. Also, some textures look good, and others bad. The lighting's amazing too, which makes it look weird to have such shoddy textures in comparison. Anyone else get this or am I glitching?

Anyways, the game itself is amazing and I've been having a blast. Mods will fix this anyway. Thank you Bethesda. :D

You have checked your settings? FO:NV was set to lowest texture size possible after I reinstalled. I could not understand that was wrong in the beginning.

It is mainly the enemies, though I have seen weird instances where larger textured objects like the Nuka-Cola machines are much lower detailed than I would expect for Ultra. I know exactly what you are talking about. I hope Bethesda releases a High Resolution DLC for Fallout 4 like they did for Skyrim.

The environment is beautiful. The character graphics are a mess. But this will be fixed soon once the mod kit is out I'm sure.

I'm not seeing crappy graphics or anything. Occassionally, I'll get treated to what looks like ID software's megatexture blurred thing. But that's only for a few brief seconds, and hardly worth rabbling about.

On Ultra, the game is beautiful.

Yeah, my game never uses more than 2.3gb of VRAM, with ultra textures, in 1440p

We don't need the Creation Kit to fix textures. Texture mods will be dropping before the week is out. Guaranteed.

yes graphics arent "next gen" BUT

- there will be mods that improve massively on graphics - look at skyrim

- no one buys a bethesda (fallout/tes) game for the graphics

fallout delivers where every bethesda fan is looking for the most - open world freedom and adventure and exploration

True that. I remember when I first played Oblivion as a kid, with a [censored] PC, I played on Low settings and I liked it! Guess I've become spoiled since then.

I'll just wait for mods then, and I also plan to upgrade my GPU sometime!

Yeah, thought I would have trouble running the game on high with my GTX880m, but it's buttery on ultra. Not as hi-res as I thought it would be and it looks like I downloaded a mod that removes clutter for lower end PCs. It's fun exploring a new Fallout world though.
