In-game Pip-Boy "Dirty"

Post » Thu Dec 03, 2015 4:11 am

Hello,

I tried every possible setting in the options and there is nothing I can do to get rid of the "dirt" from the pip-boy screen in game (PC). I can't equip items, can't see their stats... a large area of the screen is covered in dust :|

Please help!

EDIT: I fixed it! All that was needed was an update of the video drivers ;) If anyone else comes across this problem, update Nvidia drivers and it should get fixed.

Edit2: It seems that "opacity" fixes the problem, but not unless you also update the video drivers on your PC ...

um try reloading the game if that doesn't work you might need to start a new character and if that doesnt work you might need to wipe your game files and reinstall it, and yes all of this just for a dumb visual effect of wiping it off at the beginning of the game just to have it magically clean off the part you did not wipe off. Thanks Bethesda, you couldn't just have it in a display case where it cannot gather dust explaining that, noooooo you had to make it so you needed to wipe it off and you failed at it.

Thank you for the answer! I wasted a lot of hours so far and don't really feel like restarting the game :/ I used the mobile app for pip-boy to try and put on some armor and weapons and switched to "easy".
Well, I guess I either shelf the game to wait for a patch or ask for a refund. This is a game breaking bug...

Thanks a lot Frisca for the info. Well appreciated. But can you be more specific on where you changed the opacity setting? Was that an in-game setting or somewhere on the nvidia settings? Thanks a lot in advance. :)

When you start the game, go to settings>DIsplay and about 2/3 down the list you have a "HUD Opacity" slider. I did not touch the Nvidia settings. I reset them to default after updating the drivers.
