Bosmer Hunter RP

Post » Mon Jun 14, 2010 3:37 am

So I really enjoyed hunting along the Border to Valenwood with my Bosmer, but with the Grass on (I like the grass being on) I cant find half of my kills. especially if they roll down hill.

Anyhow, here are the specs:

Thaelin
Woodelf
The Thief
Hunter:
Marksman
Blade
Light Armor
Athletics
Acrobatics
Sneak
Security

He wears fur armor (when he finds it)
and the portable campsite mod. All he does is explore the wilderness, and hunt, Only going into town when his supplies are low and his pack is full of pelts and meat.

The only issue I have is finding the bodies in tall grass sometimes. I often take the long shot, and the blood decals don't always stay or point me in the direction of my kill.

Also...I know this is the wrong place, but is there a mod that makes wounded characters bleed and leave a blood trail? I don't always get the kill with the first shot, and some prey runs.

I'm also trying to make this a greenpact Bosmer.

I don't have much of a backstory for him, other than he is a more or less a loner, and only happens to be in Cyrodil after wandering in while hunting.

I think you can turn off grass in the options on the pc but I'm not sure because I play on xbox. You could roleplay that he uses his awesome hunter skills to pretend the grass isn't there and turn it back on after the kill. I've made a bosmer hunter character almost exactly like this and it was really fun, the only advice I'd give is to drop sneak and maybe athletics if your going to be running everywhere, that only matters if you care about efficient leveling however and it doesn't really matter. And finding wounded prey that don't die in 1 hit is a pain in the buttocks, how does something that's been shot with an arrow still able to run at full speed? It isn't much of an issue at higher levels though.

Very true. I prefer to keep athletics as a minor, since I run everywhere though. I might use poisons to ensure 1hit kills. I'm trying to avoid turning off the grass and turning it on. takes away from the immersion. I'll just have to sneak closer I guess.

It's awesome, to see a deer-head in the distance, half concealed by tall grasses blowing in the wind.

I'm not much help for skills sorry, as I like what you picked.
Roleplay I say wear the green robe hood you get in Velverin's first level, and go for leather, rough trousers rather than greaves imo.

Since you can mod, add gloves and cloaks into the mix and you'll end up with something very elven hunter again imo.

I like the fur armor, tbh. It gives him more of that barbarian feel. . more how I envision a low-social class hunter. I just started this thread to talk about him, and ask about blood-trails, corpse finding. But even without those, its a lot of fun.

None taken, I appreciate all suggestions made in good-faith. This is my first non-hero roleplay character.

I would replace security with alchemy, if hes spends all his time hunting, so he can make poisons to ensure a one-shot kill. But if hes an adventuring type too, then maybe keep security for exploring ruins and such.

Am I the only one who thought this was about a character of another race who hunted Bosmers? Like a Deer Hunter hunts Deer?

The second of my own created mods I started to add to Oblivion was giving body parts for consumption to the npc's..
Bosmer hearts were the first added and collected, I wonder why!

Thats okay. I have a mod that causes all vanilla npc's to drop '[Race/Creature] Meat'
