Ummm...patch relesed recently?

I quickly looked through the "game updates" and didn't see it, nor did I see any new topics on it, so I'll ask here. If it's a repeat topic or has been discussed elsewhere, my apologies.

Anyway...so I started up NV on my PS3 last night, but was watching the end of a show, so I skipped back to watch TV, while letting the game load up. Now, the load up for me consists of:

1) Trophy collection sync
2) Autosave warning/notification (you have to press OK)
3) Bethesda/Obsidian/company slides
4) 'Press start' screen
5) The main menu (continue, save, load, etc)

I have pretty much memorized this from all the times I've had to restart the system, etc. So I clicked through to the Press Start screen while watching TV.

The reason I ask is, when I was saving the game, I noticed my 9000MB save file suddenly became a 10MB save file. First I thought maybe I had created a new save, so I saved over a previous, large, save file and it too became a 10MB file. Subsequent saving yielded the same results.

I also noticed that in the 2-3 hours I played, the game didn't freeze or lockup at all! Even while running around in New Vegas and Freeside! Usually, it'll freeze at least once in that time period, requiring a system restart. So, was an update/patch released that I may have missed while not watching the load up screens? Or did my game just fix itself? Or is it something else?

Nope. No new patch, and my game wouldn't even load my last save (black screen of death). Congratulations on your 2-3 hours of inexplicably palayable game, though!

I assume you mean 9 MB (9,000 KB)? Saves can't be 9000 MB, that's bigger than the game itself. :P

The first patch we got warned me that it would have to do that before the game could be loaded. I just loaded, took a step and saved and it added only 1 KB to the save. Still waiting for update.

Maybe that's it. Makes a lot more sense now... 9000KB -> 10MB.

But not sure how that explains the near flawless game performance though. Certainly made me a happy camper...

I have lots of flawless play and then I have sections that are not good. I'd be happier if I could even limp to the endgame instead of just being shut down on Oh My Papa the way I am. The game was great until that happened and now it's just frustration and I'm just noodling around at Level 30, 175 hours. I just saw my first Veteran Ranger so that was cool. I'm still trying to be patient and I hope I get my enthusiasm back when a proper fix is made.

I got 30 minutes of flawless play right after installing patch 1.1 Thats it. Rest of the time was the usual "all the above" problems. I hope for a bit more with patch 1.2
